Rashonda Powe is the owner and artistic director of RoShow Dance Company. She took a dance class one summer while visiting her aunt, and that experience marked the beginning of her life long relationship with dance. She has studied jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, hip-hop, modern, and liturgical danc
e at various studios. She started her training at The Dance Exchange in Miami, FL and after moving to Michigan continued training at Deborah's Stage Door Center for the Performing Arts in Rochester, Michigan. Rashonda has performed in a variety of settings such as Disney World, the Detroit Piston's Halftime Shows, The Showstopper American Dance Championship in New York City, and at the Rochester Arts and Apples Festival to name a few. However, it wasn't until attending the Debbie Allen Dance Imagination Celebration Summer Intensive at the age of 19 that Rashonda realized her passion and desire to teach and choreograph dance. Her experience that summer and the encouragement from the staff helped her tap into another dimension of her gift as a dancer. She found that teaching and choreography was also a natural talent for her. Since her new found passion for choreography Rashonda has choreographed dances for Miami Move All-Star Cheer and Dance Center, Eddison Middle after-school program, Florida Memorial College dancers, Jeff's Gymnastics, and various other High Schools and Summer programs over the years. She also had the honor of serving as a judge for local dance competitions. Although Rashonda has a background in preschool education, she loves working with children of all ages. She is currently running the dance department at Revealing Truth Ministries which includes the " Divine Purpose" worship dance team and The "Lady Lions" dance team of the "Mighty Marching Lions" marching band; an elite marching band made up of children ages 7- 18. We offer private lessons, intensive dance training, and recreational classes. We cover everything from social to competitive dance and beginner through advanced level training.
