A Pinellas County judge will decide Wednesday whether a civil animal cruelty citation against SPCA Tampa Bay stands after a viral pig suffered severe sunburns under shelter care. 🔗 ⬇️

Meet Waddles, a 350-pound pig who is now at the center of an animal cruelty court battle involving SPCA Tampa Bay.

According to court records, Waddles was rescued after authorities alleged he suffered severe sunburn and other skin injuries while in the care of SPCA Tampa Bay.

The organization denies those allegations, saying Waddles had pre-existing skin conditions, received veterinary treatment, and had access to shade, mud, and water during his stay.

Now, after a judge denied SPCA Tampa Bay's request to dismiss the case, the animal cruelty case is officially headed to trial, where a judge will decide what really happened.

The good news? Waddles has since recovered and now lives on a 5-acre farm in Lithia, where he's reportedly enjoying life with other pigs and plenty of room to roam.

Rumor has it Waddles even has a pet spider watching over him these days. 🕷️🐷

It brings back memories of a famous pig and spider friendship from years ago.
