We heard the feedback. The cap last time made it tough to field a team, so we tore up the old format and built something faster, more aggressive, and completely leveled out. Every single skill level has a legitimate chance to run the board and take home the cash! 💸

Welcome to the ALL IN! Scotch Triples 9-Ball Timed Chip Tourney Invitational at The Penalty Box!

🗓️ WHEN: Start: Saturday, August 8, 2026 — 11:00 AM | End: Sunday, August 9, 2026 — 4:00 PM
📍 WHERE: The Penalty Box (2510 84th St S #15, Lakewood, WA 98499)
⚠️ THE CAP: 20 Teams MAX. (This WILL sell out fast).
💵 ENTRY: $250 Team Entry

💰 $4,700 TOTAL PAYOUT:
1st: $1,800 | 2nd: $1,200 | 3rd: $700 | 4th: $450 | 5th/6th: $275 each

⏱️ THE TIMED CHIP FORMAT:

40-minute matches — when the buzzer hits, finish the rack.

Lose a match = lose a chip; out of chips = eliminated.

Starting chips by combined Fargo rating:

Under 1250: 5 Chips

1251 - 1350: 4 Chips

1351 - 1450: 3 Chips

1451 - 1550: 2 Chips

1551+: 1 Chip

🎱 GAME RULES:
Continuous rotation, rack your own, alternate breaks. MUST call the 9-ball. No 9 on the break. Loosely enforced 60-second shot clock. Sudden-death one-rack shootout if tied.

🎟️ RAFFLE & SPECIALS:
Progressive must-go raffle Saturday at 6:00 PM. $5 per ticket or 5 for $20. 4 tables running, strict 30-second no-show clock. If a shooter misses, the next ticket drawn shoots the table as it lies. Pot split evenly four ways.

​To accommodate everyone playing in the 8-Ball APA Cities at Scratch Billiards this Saturday, we are moving our Scotch Triples Tournament to a ONE-DAY ONLY event on Sunday, May 17th!
If you get knocked out on Saturday, come down and play with us on Sunday!
​🎶 SATURDAY, MAY 16TH - THE PARTY IS STILL ON! 🎸 🎶 🎵
The tournament is ONLY Sunday, but the music hasn't! Come hang out at The Penalty Box for a great night of live entertainment:

​📋 Tournament Rules & Payouts:
​Payouts: Advertised payouts are WITH A FULL FIELD. Prize money will be split accordingly based on total team participation.
​Handicaps/Team Rules : Teams slightly above the cap will have an additional win added to their race (e.g., a 3-3 race becomes a 3-4 race). No more than 1400 Fargo, or 16 APA will be accepted.
​Matches: Initial races will be Race to 3. The final money matches will be Race to 5.

It's the start of the New Season of Speed Pool at The Penalty-Box , Saturdays at 7pm. Arrive early for signups at 6pm, to ensure YOUR spot, as space is always limited.

5 seconds to shoot, once the ball stops moving... Race to Two, double Elimination... 8 ball, then 9 ball, and 10 ball tiebreaker if needed.

Speed Pool is the great equalizer of talent, top level players dont miss when they have time to setup. Novice players sometimes second guess their first instinct, and miss. The CLOCK wins!
