Felt honored to have been asked to be here for Meagan Elzbth 🖤’s Boots on the Ground Gala! It was an event to raise awareness for the mental health of first responders.
As a Deputy for the last ten years, I have seen first hand how quickly it can deteriorate your mental health if you aren’t careful. While the national average for the general public sits around 13 to 14 per 100,000 people, studies have shown first responders are significantly more at risk with 18 in 100,000. With law enforcement alone accounting for 58% of all first responder suicides.
