A little over four years ago, I was working a wedding as the coordinator. I had never done flowers for a wedding before but at the time had become more and more interested in them. The florist working that day noticed this as we spoke and graciously allowed me to work on a small arrangement for her while she did other tasks. After I finished, I handed it off to her and said something along the lines of, “What do you think? You can redo it if you want.” she then said to me “Brooke… you have an eye for this. Have you ever thought about doing flowers?”
After she told me this, the wheels started to turn. I started asking myself that same question - what if I did flowers? It felt very daunting, but I started doing flowers for holiday deliveries, small events, then finally weddings. But it all started with that one comment, one that honestly inspired enough confidence in myself to take the jump.
I think most of life is a leap of faith. Dating, marriage, owning a business, home ownership, parenthood… I’m so grateful I took the plunge, but also for small moments that become domino effects in our lives. So thank you to that florist, and I hope I get to be that for someone one day ❤️
This sweet photoshoot was put together by showcasing their end of summer local flowers, and photographed by . I can’t wait to continue to use their beautiful blooms in future arrangements to come 🌼
