As flattered as I am that he thinks of me so often, this is really my husband, he really went to South Shore Social, and that is his honest review. He honestly had a terrible experience there. You can’t respond to comments on Google reviews, so just want to state for the record I wouldn’t leave a fake review for any business despite how I feel about the owner. I won’t leave my honest review for them either because obviously it would look like I have ulterior motives. My husband on the other hand, does not care about appearances and does what he wants 😅 After 8 years with my firey Puerto Rican I know better than to waste my energy trying to reel him in 😂 And you all know I don’t give a crap about competition, I invite my “competition” to setup on my own lot, and most of my close friends are other restaurant and food truck owners 😉

Today we will be at Quaker Haven Camp serving lunch, along with some other food trucks, from 11-3! This event is open to the public and a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with your kiddos 🙂 Come on out and see us!!

Menu for this Friday from 6-9! Notice entree and sides are separate, but it still comes out to the same prices if you order both 🙂 We have had lots of people request to get entrees without sides. No fries since we will be using the fryer for fish and shrimp 😉 600 S Huntington St Syracuse.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting lately, and I’ve decided I need a break for a while. This past weekend at Tippy Dance Hall, I had SO MUCH FUN! We were dancing and singing while we were cooking and just had the most amazing time. That’s what everyday on our truck used to be like. It’s why I started this business, because it made me so happy. It made me realize that it hasn’t felt like that at the lot for quite some time. My anxiety there is through the roof. Every day I’m worried about what kind of BS is going to come my way. As much as I don’t want to let you all down, and don’t want to let these A-holes win, being happy is much more important to me than being right. I’m not giving up, I will continue to fight for not only our rights as a small business, but for every other business in Syracuse that could just as easily become a target someday. Some people need to be put in check. So, we will still be at all previously scheduled events, we will still be doing our booze cruises, and we will pop up from time to time outside of Syracuse. But we won’t be keeping regular hours in Syracuse until I get this all sorted out. I just don’t have the energy to run a booming business and fight the man at the same time. We will post on our page when we will setup and where, and hopefully you all understand and continue to support us when we are open. Don’t worry, this isn’t over, I just need some time. Love you all ❤️

Update on our status here at the Syracuse lot…town council members had decided to issue us a fine of $50 per day going back to the end of March (so several thousand dollars) for not paying a non-resident vendor fee that no other business owner in town has to pay. As I’ve said all along, it’s not about the $600 fee. It’s about the fact that I don’t think paying that fee will be the end of our troubles here. I feel in my heart that certain individuals won’t stop harassing us until they find a way to shut us down. One of those ways could be writing a new food truck ordinance with policies that would be the end of our business model here. The council is currently working on this ordinance, although I don’t know exactly what will be in it yet. So, as a final attempt to compromise, I spoke with our town manager and told him even though I still feel like the vendor fee does not apply to me, I will pay if it council members will agree that my business can continue running as we are without any further harassment, and that I would be exempt from any new food truck ordinance, as I have prior approval through the board of zoning appeals to do exactly what I’m doing (I should be exempt anyways). I’m hoping we can reach a compromise. If the council declines my offer and issues a huge fine, we will file for an emergency court hearing to have a judge rule on this matter. We would fulfill all scheduled obligations outside the town of Syracuse, but we will have to shut down in Syracuse until our court ruling to avoid further fines. If this is the way the council chooses to proceed, despite knowing that HUNDREDS of you in town do not want this to happen, then it is probably also time we initiate an election recall for some council members.
