The Main Club was the first gay bar in the Twin Ports area opened in 1983. Owner Bob Jansen founded the club after winning a suit against the College of Saint Scholastica for firing him for being gay. Only once in a Blue Moon would a Catholic institution fund a gay bar! Now, The Main Club has progressed into a landmark for the region's GLBT community! Come in and view the history of the Duluth/Superior Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex community throughout the club.
