We have big news… and we couldn’t keep it in any longer! 💐✨

A few weeks ago, I announced that Pinewood and Petals would be closing its doors. I made that decision with a heavy heart, but what I didn’t expect was the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and encouragement that followed.

Your kind messages, your stories, your belief in what we’ve built… they touched me deeply. And sometimes, life has a funny way of stitching things back together when you least expect it.

So… we’re not closing after all.
We’re back. Stronger. Better. And ready to make more forever flowers for your biggest, most beautiful moments. 🌸

But this time, I’m not doing it alone.

It’s my absolute joy to introduce Pinewood and Petals’ newest official team member: Mystique! 💫

Mystique comes to us with years of experience in the wedding industry, from gowns to design, and a sharp mind for human resources and creative direction. But more than that, she’s been with Pinewood and Petals since day one: cheering me on, brainstorming with me, offering insight, and quietly helping this dream grow behind the scenes.

Truthfully, asking for help is something I’ve struggled with, especially when it comes to this business. But Mystique has always shown up, and when I shared my decision to close, she was the first to say “Don’t. We can find another way.”

So here we are, finding another way. Together.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next. Thank you for believing in us. For believing in me. This next chapter is full of heart, blooms, and possibility — and we’re just getting started. 🌿

Just finished the colorful, springy, fun bouquet for a beach wedding and I am over the moon!!! This bride loved colors, so incorporating a variety of fun, bright colors into a bouquet required me to pull out all my creative tricks. I'm a very visual person and without things to look at for inspiration, I doubt certain combos or ideas - but this turned out to be such a fun build and I loved watching it all come together 💙

One of the most fun bouquets I've built just completed for a May 4th wedding 😍 Weddings are meant to be about You and the love of your life - why not make it fun!! I love doing themed weddings and Easter eggs in my bouquets. Remember, the flowers are wood and meant to last for a very long time after your wedding! Make it into a fun momento for after the big day.
I can't wait for Jaimie to see her Star Wars bouquet (complete with light saber handle!)

Hello everyone. As many folks know, I operated Pinewood and Petals part-time in addition to being a full-time marine biologist for NOAA. Being a marine biologist was my calling, my purpose in life, ever since I was a kid. Unfortunately, due to current political climate, NOAA was targeted and over a thousand employees were fired, without warning. I was one of those employees. I have loved serving NOAA and my local communities working for NOAA over the last 8 years. I didn't choose this and nor did I anticipate being fired. It wasn't just a job, it was my dream. While I am doing okay for now, I need to focus my energy on the year to come.
In light of this, I'm moving forward and keeping a positive outlook - I will be accepting more wedding orders for 2025. If you are in need of wedding florals for 2025, please don't hesitate to reach out , email me at [email protected] for a quote.

First wedding of 2025, done!!!

Welcoming in 2025 with our first wedding of the year at the beautiful ! A sneak peek from a very unique night ceremony! I don’t like shooting forward of the last row of chairs in a ceremony. I try to stay hidden while working. But there was no way to get clear non-blurry shots from the back on Saturday night. I don’t use flash for ceremonies. So I had to move up as close as possible. It was very dark anyway so I doubt I distracted anyone in the audience. Beautiful ceremony. I do enjoy a good challenge. Masel tov, Seth and Hannah!!

I'm sorry for the radio silence everyone! I promise I'm here and responding to emails and inquiries as soon as I have a free moment.
As many of you know, Pinewood and Petals is operated solo by me, Jordy. It's a "side-hustle" to my full-time job as a marine biologist. I started Pinewood and Petals as a creative outlet and to make a few extra bucks - I never would have imagined it would have turned into a full time gig on its own. I have LOVED all my clients, many of you who have become friends. I am very ambitious, and last year I had a hard time saying 'no' to anyone. While I loved my business' success, I was losing precious time with my husband and doing other hobbies. In 2024, I decided to take a quarter step back and take only 1/2 the orders I typically do. In turn, 2024 has been a breath of fresh air : I took a work promotion, traveled with my husband and dogs, we remodeled our living room and office, and take up horseback riding again (give back to my inner kid).

All this to say, Pinewood and Petals isn't going anywhere but this year has been a good opportunity to evaluate how the business will look going into 2025 and 2026. I will continue to take 2 wedding orders a month, so I can maintain a healthy balance in my work life and my LIFE LIFE. I only have a few slots available for 2025 left, I typically booked up 4 months ahead of time - so I recommend booking no later than 6 months from your wedding. In 2022/2023, I took up to 4 orders a month but I cannot sustain that long-term without sacrificing somewhere else. I love everyone who has made it possible for me to succeed and Pinewood and Petals be what it is...I can't wait to see y'all in 2025!

It always touches my heart in a very special way when I get orders for destination weddings, especially those for Charleston locals getting married across the world. Thank you to all my clients for allowing me to be a part of your big day - it means so much to me to be one small part of a day you'll remember forever 💜

Happy July 5, the official start to spooky season! IYKYK. Be prepared for all the fall bouquet posts.
I recently had a work promotion and therefore, took on fewer orders in 2024. Everyone needs balance, and I too, had to find that. With the extra time I've had, my husband and I have been able to catch up on some home projects we've been wanting to do for quite awhile. With the *quickly approaching fall season, I am making room for 2 last minute bookings, WITH a $75 discount on orders over $500 (good through December 2024). Aren't Hannah and Nolan the dreamiest couple out there or WHAT? Congratulations you two! This drop- dead GORGEOUS wedding at required so many pampas, it took 2 vehicles to deliver them! But SO worth it. Also .whatley is hands down the best wedding planner in the area, most down to earth, and simply an amazing human. She organized this wedding and every element of it top notch (chef's 💋 ). Book her for your day, everything will go so smoothly!
