What a weekend at the farm. 🤍
We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our very first farm tour and dinner of the season on Friday evening. It was such a special night filled with wonderful company, meaningful conversations, and a table overflowing with beautiful local food.
A huge thank you to our friends at Boxcar Acres and Lawson Family Farm for providing such gorgeous produce for the meal, to my sister-in-law for baking fresh sourdough bread, to Rowlett’s Milkhouse Creamery for the incredible butter, and to our family and dear family friends who poured so much love into preparing such a spectacular meal for everyone gathered around our table. We truly could not do this without our community. 🌿
And thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to support our farmers market. Seeing both familiar faces and new ones each week is one of the greatest joys of this little farm life. Your support means more than you know.
I wanted to share this photo I was able to snap yesterday of one of our pasture-raised chickens proudly carrying around a bug snack 🐓🐛, I thought it would be a good time to share a little educational tidbit too. We’re often asked if our poultry is “grass-fed.” Unlike cows and sheep, chickens are monogastric animals, meaning they do not have multi-chambered stomachs designed to survive on grass alone. Chickens are natural omnivores and thrive on a varied diet — bugs, seeds, clover, grasses, and plenty of foraging while on pasture — but they also require nutrient-dense feed to stay healthy and well nourished. That’s why we supplement with high-quality non-GMO feed alongside all the goodness they naturally forage here on pasture. Healthy animals always come first here on our farm. 🌱
Thank you all for continuing to care about where your food comes from and for supporting local farms like ours. We are grateful for every single one of you.
