The world lost a great steak cook and an even better friend this week. Ben Spraggins will be missed by many. He was crowned the Professional Division Reserve Champion in 2019.

For this year’s event (10th Anniversary), we’ve added a Super Steak category, where the previous winners will compete against each other and everyone else will compete in the open category.

The Super Steak winner will be called the Ben Spraggins Memorial Super Steak Champion.

Ben never missed a single one of these cookoffs so we made sure he will be a part of it forever. 🥩🏆

Our Story

The Cattleman's Classic & Ribeye Roundup returns to Celebration Plaza in Sulphur Springs on October 5th. The event features a steak cookoff which includes an expected 40 cook teams followed by a steak dinner at 6pm prepared by the steak cook-off competitors. Tickets for the dinner are $25 each and include a 15oz ribeye, baked potato, salad,and dessert. Proceeds of the event benefit NETBIO.

Tickets are available for purchase at Texas Hertiage Bank or online at TEXASHNB.com At 8pm Texas country artist Roger Creager takes the stage for a free concert on the square.
