Happy June - one of the best months of the year in our opinions. The almost start of summer, wedding season gears up, the lupines start blooming, and it’s Pride month.

It shouldn’t have to be said, but in our current climate, we want to reiterate that at EWM, every month is pride month. We believe deeply in everyone having the right to marry their chosen person, and we believe that our LGBTQIA+ friends, family and clients should be able to have the same rights as us. You won’t find us rainbow washing our brand for one month a year, and you won’t find us posting our q***r weddings just one month a year. These weddings and engagements deserve the same amount of love and appreciation all year long - and here at EWM, we love all of our people equally.

Happy Pride month, friends.

PS: if you’re offended by rainbows and q***r love in general, this is your heads up to unfollow us ✌🏻

There’s a moment at almost every wedding where you look around and realize...this is everyone. Every friend, every family member, every person who has shaped your life is standing in the same place at the same time.

For Cara and John, that feeling wasn’t fleeting. Instead, it became the foundation of their entire day.

Hi, I’m Leigh! I’ve been a photographer since the age of 17, when I enrolled in photography school in North Carolina, earning a degree in film. After interning in Cincinnati at a commercial photography studio and working for clients such as GE and Hobart, landing my first job as a studio manager and assistant photographer at a portrait and wedding studio in High Point, NC, and finally, as a studio manager for a commercial media company in Winston-Salem, I made the move to the coast of Maine and became a wedding photographer in 2008.

I’ve always been drawn to history, historical photographs, historic preservation, and genealogy. I spent hours as a kid pouring through shoe boxes full of family photographs, looking for the stories of my childhood as well as stories of my parents and grandparents, from the time when they were children. I consider myself a family historian when I’m at a wedding, documenting faces and relationships that will go on the wall for 100 years, and preserve my clients’ history for their future generations!

The Preserve at Chocorua is one of our favorite venues to photograph at - not only because you can stay onsite for the whole weekend, but because you can also have your sweet fur babies with you! You know we’re big dog people, so this is a huge plus for us! We featured them in our first issue - swipe to learn more!
