Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As families gather and communities come together this Memorial Day, we are reminded that the freedoms we enjoy were made possible through extraordinary sacrifice.

Some of the best camp memories begin long before a child ever arrives at camp.

They begin with moms helping pack bags, labeling water bottles, cheering from the sidelines, encouraging independence, and sending kids off for new adventures with hugs, love, and just a little bit of worry.

Today, we celebrate all the mothers and caregivers who help young people grow into confident, compassionate, and adventurous individuals. Thank you for every ride to practice, every late-night pep talk, every packed lunch, and every moment of encouragement along the way.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Deer Creek Overlook and Harford County 4-H Camp.
