An Eagle Scout project to replace a bridge at the Park is scheduled to begin on April 16. The bridge is located between Tote Road and the Tower Service Road.

During construction, the trail in this area will be temporarily closed. The closure is expected to last up to five days while the work is completed.

Please respect all posted trail closures and signage to ensure the safety of both park visitors and the volunteers working on the project.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the project, please contact Stratham Parks and Recreation.

Thank you for your cooperation and for supporting improvements to the Park.

We took a look at trail counter data from March 19–27 at the Jack Rabbit parking lot—and the numbers tell an interesting story.

Keep in mind, the parking lot was closed for most of that time, and we’re still very much in the off-season. Even with those factors, there’s still consistent use of the back field.

As we move toward spring and conditions improve, we expect to see those numbers climb quickly!

Stay tuned—we’ll keep sharing updates as the season ramps up.

UPDATE! The pump track is now open! Pump track is closed until things dry out at the Park! Check back here for updates.

Mud season is here at Stratham Hill Park—and while it’s a great time to get outside, our trails need a little extra care this time of year

Why it matters:
Spring snowmelt leaves trails soft, wet, and vulnerable. Walking around mud might keep your feet dry, but it actually widens trails and leads to long-term damage.

How to help protect the trails:
Stay in the center of the trail—even if it’s muddy
Step on rocks or durable surfaces when you can
Go through mud and water, not around it
Avoid trail edges, which are more prone to erosion
Safety tips for muddy conditions:
Slow down—mud and lingering ice can be slippery
Expect shorter hikes and take your time
Trekking poles can help with balance (rubber tips are best!)

Choose your route wisely:
Stick to well-traveled, durable trails and avoid low-lying or especially wet areas when possible.

Please plan ahead when you visit the Park next. We are moving into spring operations with warmer weather headed our way. Parking lots and road ways will remain closed until they are firm enough for vehicle traffic.
