An opera is so much more than what happens on stage. 🎼✨

Behind every performance are singers, musicians, conductors, directors, stage crews, costume teams, and countless others working together to bring a story to life.

The next time you take your seat, remember all the artistry happening behind the curtain, too. ❤️

🎼 Opera Vocabulary 101

Ever heard the word aria and wondered what it means?

An aria is a solo piece in an opera where a character expresses their emotions, thoughts, or desires through song. Think of it as the moment when the story pauses and we get to hear what’s really happening inside a character’s heart. ❤️

Stay tuned as we decode more of the language of opera!

🧜‍♀️✨ Did you know Rusalka and The Little Mermaid share more than just an underwater world?

Both heroines give up their voices and their home beneath the waves to pursue love with a human prince. But unlike Disney’s happy ending, Rusalka is a deeply tragic story of sacrifice, betrayal, and lost love. 🌊💔 🎶
