There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing how Salt Marsh Opera creates meaningful experiences. 💙

Whether it’s inspiring the next generation of opera lovers, delighting audiences with creative performances, or welcoming talented artists to our stage, your words remind us why we do what we do.

🎭 From an educator:
“My students were stunned by how much they enjoyed opera! Experiencing opera live made a huge difference as what I had showed them previously on video did not connect readily with them. This program is so important for the development of future opera-goers and patrons!”

👏 From an audience member:
“We were blown away by the wonderful performance today of Pirates of Penzance. It was a wonderful presentation by various soloists and a great chorus. We have seen three presentations of this production through the years, and this was the best.”

🎶 From a singer:
"I’ve had such an enjoyable time here. Thank you for bringing me back to sing this wonderful piece in this stunning area."

To our educators, patrons, performers, volunteers, and supporters—thank you for being part of the Salt Marsh Opera family. Your stories inspire us to continue bringing exceptional opera and music education to our community.

✨Singer Spotlight: Emily Margevich ✨

Soprano Emily Margevich will grace the stage at our second Music at the Lighthouse concert where she will perform A Tosca Portrait.

Emily Margevich is “a star in the making” (Bachtrack). This “luminous soprano” (Wall Street Journal) has “a voice of liquid beauty” (Opera Magazine) that is “big and luxurious, with a cascading quality, like a bolt of silk dropped from a balcony” (Parterre). She is a “poised and fearless prima donna” (Musical America), has been performing since the age of two, and is a proud member of Actors Equity. Emily recently won the prestigious Luminarts competition and starred as OperaDelaware’s Tosca, where her “gorgeous stage presence and voice of amazing resonance won the day” (Opera Today). This season, Ms. Emily debuts as Roselinde (Die Fledermaus) with Knoxville Opera and returns to OperaDelaware to sing Anna (Le Villi).
