Perfection is sneaky.

Especially in the wedding world, where the bar is high and the expectation is “nail it every time.”
And the best wedding pros are really good at getting very, very close. Every. Single. Job.
That’s the standard.

Here’s where it gets tricky.

In theory, we know perfection isn’t possible.
In practice, the pursuit of it slows us down, and sometimes stops us entirely.

Applying that same unachievable standard to the business side is where things really go sideways.
Unlike a wedding, business decisions don’t come with a hard deadline. So tasks stretch into “someday.”
The post isn’t ready.
The website needs one more tweak.
The mindset shift isn’t fully formed yet.

Cue the loop: not ready, not good enough, not done.

Case in point: yesterday I missed a word on one of the carousel slides I posted.
I caught it after it was live, gaining traction, and completely uneditable.

I cringed for half a second.
Considered deleting it.
Because… what will people think?!

Then I got over myself and moved on.

Because successful businesses are built on momentum.
And perfection becomes a problem when it stops us from moving.
From posting.
From pitching.
From raising your prices.
From changing what isn’t working.

So, honest question:
How many of you even noticed the typo?

And the better question:
Where is waiting to be “ready” keeping you from taking the next step, and building real momentum toward the success you want?

If you want things to keep moving this year, thoughtfully and strategically, without getting stuck in your head…
I see you. I’ve got you.

DM me MOVE or comment below. Let’s talk about keeping your business in motion.

Hi, I’m Jeri.

Last year, I closed my floral design business.
Not because I fell out of love with the industry, but because I was ready to step fully into work that had been calling me for a long time.

Today, I work with wedding professionals and floral designers who are exceptional at their craft and know they want more from their business.
More clarity.
More stability.
More confidence in their decisions.

They are not looking for quick fixes or hype.
They want a steady sounding board. A problem solver. Someone who can guide them to see what is actually happening in their business and change it.

My work starts with mindset.
Because how you see yourself as a business owner shapes every decision you make.
From there, we build systems and choose tools designed to fit how you think and work. No more reacting, reinventing, or holding everything together by sheer willpower.

I do this through:
• 1:1 consulting and coaching
• working with teams behind the scenes
• my course, Lead the Client, Land the Wedding
• and speaking engagements within the event industry

Here’s the most important part.
I work with people who are willing to feel uncomfortable in order to grow.

Not people who stay stuck and complain about it.
People who take responsibility, make changes, and lead their business differently.

I love this industry. The creativity, the generosity, the care that goes into the work.
And I am deeply invested in helping thoughtful professionals build businesses that work for them, their teams, and their clients.
If this resonates, you are in the right place.

And if you feel that quiet stirring, the sense that it is time to do things differently,
DM LEVEL UP and I will send you a link to my calendar.

The end of December is… a weird time.
There, I said it.

The year isn’t over, but it’s done doing what it’s going to do.
The calendar turns. The light’s coming back.
And with that comes reflection, relief, grief, pride, disappointment. Often all at once.

Change doesn’t start on January 1.
It starts with perspective.

I’m hearing this a lot lately:
“I’ve built this business by myself… and I think I need fresh eyes on it.”

Yes. You do.
We all do.

Growth doesn’t happen by pushing harder or staying busy.
It starts by seeing differently.

Look back at this year.
You didn’t come this far by accident.

So instead of asking “what’s wrong,”
ask: Where do I want to go next?

If you want a simple way to pause and reset before 2026 rolls in,
I’m hosting a free 5-Day Business Check-In Challenge.

✅Five short emails.
✅Five minutes a day.
✅No pressure. Just clarity.

Here’s what no one tells creatives early on:
The skills that make us incredible at our craft are not the same skills that build a strong business.

Creativity, intuition, aesthetic, problem-solving on the fly?
Gold. 🌟

But business asks for different muscles.
Decision-making.
Clarity.
Consistency.
Leadership.

And when business isn’t feeling the way we want it to, we have to be willing to look at why we’re stuck.

Spoiler alert:
It’s us.
It’s always us.

Not because we’re doing it “wrong,” but because we’re human.
Avoidance, overthinking, blaming, trying to muscle through alone. I still catch myself in these patterns all the time.

The difference is, I’ve built a practice of looking at myself first.
Then I find the tools.
Or the support.
Or the outside perspective that helps me change what I want to change.
Quickly. Because I don’t have time to mess around.

That’s leadership.
And it’s learnable.

We’re entering the season of new beginnings.
If you want your business to feel different next year, this is where it starts.

I have a little gift for you. 🎁

Every January, after a long wedding season, I remember that mix of relief, exhaustion, and “okay… now what?”

I wanted something light, useful, and doable to help shift gears without the stress of a big project.

So I created a simple Check-In Challenge.

One email each day for the last five days of the year.
Just a few minutes a day to refocus, check in on your marketing, sales, and overall vibe for 2026, and set yourself up for a calmer, more intentional start to the year.

Comment or DM CHECK-IN.
The first email lands December 27.

I’ve been thinking a lot about why so many wedding professionals resist the business side of what they do.

Here’s my take.
Weddings train us to sprint.
You book it.
You execute it.
You’re done.

There’s adrenaline. A deadline. A finish line.
Then it’s on to the next one.

Business is different.
It’s the long game. A marathon with no clear finish line.
It requires patience, discipline, and consistency. Not flash.

I’ve always been a bit different.
I loved the zen of floral design and I’m a nerd for numbers, systems, and efficiency because time is money.
I chose entrepreneurship because I wanted control of my destiny. I understood early on that if something wasn’t working, it came back to me. My choices. My mindset. My willingness to adjust.

So I trained for both.
Sprinter and marathon runner.
Creative and analytical.

And when I’ve been stuck, I didn’t power through alone.
I got coaching. Just like an elite athlete.

It’s easy to think executing weddings is all you need.
But the quieter, less exciting business work is what makes everything else easier.

It’s almost January. Time for new habits.
If you know you’re a sprinter and need help going the distance,

I built my floral business from the love of flowers and the thrill of production. (That “Let’s put on a show!” theater-kid energy never leaves me.)

But I also loved getting paid for my creative work.
The money felt like Monopoly money at first. Fun. Motivating.
And I’m competitive.

Not with other florists, I always felt fellowship and support among my floral peeps.
I was competing with myself.

So when things got hard, after 2008, during Covid, or anytime the numbers stopped working, I didn’t blame the economy.
I looked at my systems. My pricing. My boundaries.

And when I felt frustrated and couldn’t see the next move, I asked for help.
That’s when things shifted.

💫Faster bookings.
💫Confidence in my pricing.
💫Boundaries clients respected.

That’s what I want for you.

2026 is practically here.
Comment READY and I’ll send you details for my 5-Day Challenge.
Five minutes a day to get your business ready for what’s next.
