✨ Hospitality Meets History! ✨
Students from Stockton University’s School of Business visited the Prallsville Mills for a hands-on look at heritage tourism in action.
They toured the historic Mills Complex with local historian Dennis Bertland, connected with Board Member Andrea and Executive Director Mia, then headed to the beautiful Woolverton Inn (John Prall’s House) for a site tour led by the inn’s owner, Mary, followed by a delicious lunch catered by Under the Moon Café.
This visit is part of Stockton University’s Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management Studies program, which prepares students for exciting careers in event planning, tourism, and hospitality by blending real-world experience with industry insight.
As the Prallsville Mills prepares for the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution and its 50th anniversary as a nonprofit, we’re exploring opportunities for an intern to join the team. The intern would be mentored by Executive Director Mia, gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management, working with event planners and vendors, the rental process, state park permitting, coordination with other local businesses and nonprofits to encourage tourism, and learning how to bring history to life through thoughtful programming and public engagement.
Huge thanks to the Woolverton Inn for welcoming the students into their beautiful, historic space-what an inspiring setting to learn and connect. Also a big shoutout to Stockton University’s faculty members and program coordinators, Tara and Jennifer, for supporting the next generation of tourism professionals in New Jersey’s growing hospitality industry!
