I don’t usually do this, but I have to brag on someone for a minute.
A while back I took a chance and let someone help me with the business side of the shop. His name is Assil — and honestly, I don’t know what I’d do without him now.
It started with the Facebook ads. Then it was the website. Then Instagram, then TikTok — things I’d been putting off for years because they just felt like too much. At one point he even helped me figure out how to bring on the right person for the shop. Every time I’d mention something I was stuck on, he’d just quietly handle it, and handle it well.
Here’s the part that still gets me: he’s not from around here. He’s not even in this country. We’ve never met in person — never even been in the same room. And somehow this young man understood my little flower shop, my customers, and this community better than I could’ve explained it myself.
I won’t get into numbers. I’ll just say Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day this year were the busiest this shop has ever seen, and I genuinely sat back and couldn’t believe what was happening. He didn’t just “run some ads.” He understood my heart for this place and put it into words and pictures that made people show up.
If you own a small business and the online side of things feels like too much — talk to him. I mean it. You can reach him at [email protected]. Tell him Michelle sent you. 💛
