I started my photography journey back as a child “borrowing” my mothers old cannon film camera taking the most random photos. But she always developed all my photos and gave them to me. Fast forward to 8 years ago when I first took the leap into starting my own business. I had my first born in 2010, I was very short on money and really wanted newborn photos. It never happened due to lack of money.

That’s when I choose to start my own photography business with the mentality that everyone deserves to have their cherished moments captured and preserved. Thus, Cherished Moments Photography was born! Since then, I have married and choose to change to Block photography! I specialize in lifestyle children, family, seniors and couples. Occasionally I will shoot small weddings and portraits. It’s those candid “real” shots that make the most imperfect photo perfect. I love challenging myself every single day! Every year my skills improve, my photos are sharper, my equipment upgrades and my love for photography grows!

Another brand new family in front of my camera, and a beautiful reminder of just how much of a blessing 2025 has been. I truly could not be more thankful for each and every family who has trusted me to capture their memories this year 🤍

We were lucky enough to snag one of the last beautiful days of the year, making it the perfect time to sneak in the Haase family’s very first photo session 📸🍂 The light, the crisp air, and the quiet moments all came together so naturally, creating a relaxed and meaningful session from start to finish.

The love these two have for each other — and for their newest little addition — is so clearly visible in every image. It’s the kind of love you don’t just see… you feel. From gentle snuggles to genuine smiles, each moment told a story of connection, warmth, and the start of a beautiful family journey 🤍

✨ Senior Sessions Will Always Have My Heart ✨

I truly adore capturing seniors. It’s such a meaningful milestone — the closing of one beautiful chapter and the beginning of another. The end of an era and the start of adulthood. There is so much growth, excitement, and individuality wrapped into this season, and it’s always an honor to document it 📸🤍

Age came into this session with visions, hobbies, and unique ideas — and I absolutely LOVED every bit of it. Sessions like this remind me why senior photography is so special: it’s about celebrating who they are right now and creating images that feel personal, intentional, and true to them.

Like I said in my last post — give me ALL the newborns 🥹👶

I have been soaking up every snuggle, tiny yawn, and sweet little stretch in the studio lately, and it truly fills my heart.

Now it’s time to shine the spotlight on little Miss Anna ✨
She was an absolute dream from start to finish — so calm, content, and relaxed that we were able to breeze through her session in record time 🤍 A sleepy, peaceful newborn session is always a photographer’s dream, and Anna delivered all the sweetness.

These individual portraits capture those tiny details that change far too quickly — the delicate features, the softness, and that brand-new baby magic that families want to remember forever 📸🤍

I have had the absolute joy and pleasure of having so many sweet babies in the studio lately — and honestly… I am loving every single second of it 🥹👶

Give me all the newborn snuggles, the tiny details, and those once-in-a-lifetime moments that pass by far too quickly.

The Resch family recently brought their second daughter, sweet baby Anna, into the studio for updated family portraits along with individual newborn images of their newest little love 🤍 It was such a joy to capture this beautiful family as they settle into life as a family of four.

Little Miss Anna was an absolute dream — so calm, content, and sleepy that we were able to move through the entire session in record time 🥰 Her peaceful demeanor made for the sweetest images, and it was truly a photographer’s dream.

This was a brand new family for me to photograph this year, and I truly hope I get the pleasure of photographing them again someday 🤍 From the very start, they were so fun, loving, and easygoing — the kind of session that just flows naturally and leaves you smiling the whole time.

We truly lucked out with one of the last beautiful days of the year, sneaking in this gorgeous session just before the season changed. The soft light, crisp air, and genuine connections made everything come together perfectly 🍁✨

🎄 Gavin Family Christmas 🎄

I just have to share these because they make my heart so full 🤍
This is my brother Andy, my sister-in-law and best friend (and yes — she was my best friend long before she became my sister-in-law 😉), my sweet nephew Barrett, and precious little Honey ✨

I fell in love with photography because it allows me to stop time — even if just for a moment — and freeze the little things that pass by way too fast. Being able to do that for my own family is truly one of my greatest treasures 🥹📸 There is something extra special about documenting the people you love most and preserving these moments forever.

And let’s be honest… I may be a little biased, but Bear is the cutest baby ever, and Honey is just as adorable 💚🥰 I mean, come on!!

This Christmas session was full of matching Grinch PJs 💚🎄, snuggling up to read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas 📖✨, lots of giggles, and all the cozy holiday snuggles you could ever want 🤍

These are the moments I never want to forget — the laughter, the love, the chaos, and the magic of this season with family. So thankful I get to capture memories like these, especially with the people who mean the most to me ❤️

Hey friends! I wanted to hop on and give a little update on my current editing queue — and a huge thank you for everyone’s patience this year. ❤️

I have been working incredibly hard to get galleries delivered as quickly as I can. Your understanding means everything to me. With medical appointments, weekly treatments, and most recently a bone marrow biopsy for our youngest son, Quinton, a lot of my usual editing time has been pulled away. It’s been a season, and I’m so grateful for your grace through it all.

Please believe me when I say — I am equally as excited and eager to deliver your galleries as you are to receive them! 🥹✨ I truly can’t wait for you to see the beautiful moments we captured together.

Right now, both wedding sneak peeks and regular session galleries are running longer than 4 weeks. I am working quickly and using every available moment to get them out as soon as possible.
