I started my photography journey back as a child “borrowing” my mothers old cannon film camera taking the most random photos. But she always developed all my photos and gave them to me. Fast forward to 8 years ago when I first took the leap into starting my own business. I had my first born in 2010, I was very short on money and really wanted newborn photos. It never happened due to lack of money.

That’s when I choose to start my own photography business with the mentality that everyone deserves to have their cherished moments captured and preserved. Thus, Cherished Moments Photography was born! Since then, I have married and choose to change to Block photography! I specialize in lifestyle children, family, seniors and couples. Occasionally I will shoot small weddings and portraits. It’s those candid “real” shots that make the most imperfect photo perfect. I love challenging myself every single day! Every year my skills improve, my photos are sharper, my equipment upgrades and my love for photography grows!

I don’t even really know how to write this post. 😔

Over the weekend, the business above my studio had a washing machine malfunction. It continuously filled with water for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT, flooding the building and causing significant water damage to my studio.

To say I’m heartbroken doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I’ve cried about as much as I think my body will physically allow. Walking into my studio and seeing everything I’ve worked so incredibly hard for in shambles… there really aren’t words for that feeling.

This studio isn’t just four walls to me. I have poured years of my life, my heart, my time, and so much work into creating this space. Every little corner has been built into something I’m proud of—a place where I get to create, snuggle your babies, watch your families grow, and capture some of the biggest moments of your lives.

And just like that, everything changed.

Unfortunately, all in-studio sessions are on hold for the time being while we figure out the extent of the damage and what comes next. If you currently have an in-studio session scheduled with me, I will be reaching out to you directly as soon as I have a better idea of the timeline.

My heart also absolutely breaks for Diamond Lounge, Spilled Ink, and the other businesses in our building that were affected by this disaster. So many small businesses and so much hard work were impacted.

I’m overwhelmed. I’m devastated. And right now, I’m just trying to take it one day at a time.

But Block Photography isn’t going anywhere. 🤎
I just have one hell of a mess to clean up first. 😔

Trucks. Burnouts. Smoke. A freaking GORGEOUS sunset. Oh… and a whole lotta love. 🔥🛻💨🌅

Josh + Jade Herman really said, “Let’s get married… but make it badass.” 😂🤘🏼

And I am HERE. FOR. IT.

I could NOT wait to share this sneak peek because COME ONNNN. 😍 One minute we’re capturing all the sweet newlywed moments, the next there’s tires smoking, trucks showing off, and then Mother Nature decides to casually drop one of the prettiest sunsets on us.

Like… excuse me?! 🤌🏼🔥

But as freaking cool as these photos are, the best part of the entire day was Josh + Jade. Their love, their laughter, and just how genuinely HAPPY they were to finally be husband + wife. 🤍

This wedding was 100% THEM, and those are always my favorite days to photograph.

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Herman!! 🥂🖤

Photoshop needs an update.
Camera Raw needs an update.
Lightroom needs an update.
The trash is apparently deleting approximately 47 million things. 😂

Meanwhile I’m just sitting here like… I HAVE PHOTOS TO EDIT. 😭📸

Did I need it immediately? Obviously. 😂

Tiny tote. Ridiculous amount of happiness.

And honestly, the fact that it actually holds my SD cards perfectly just makes it even better. 😂📸

Please tell me I’m not the only person who buys miniature versions of things just because THEY’RE MINI. 😭😂

Finally getting around to sharing Heather & Kevin’s magical engagement session! 🌸✨

I had SO much fun bringing this vision to life for these two. Inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses, we took a quiet stretch of water, a canoe, a whole lot of flowers, and a little imagination and turned it into something straight out of a fantasy world. 🧚‍♀️🌿

And while the final images make it look effortless… let me tell you, the behind-the-scenes was a whole different story. 😂

Getting all those flowers in just the right place, keeping everything together, balancing in a canoe, and trying to create that dreamy, romantic look was definitely a challenge!

But Heather and Kevin made it easy.

Their love for each other shines so clearly through these images. ❤️

The little looks, the laughter, the way they naturally gravitate toward each other… THAT is the magic I was really trying to capture. The flowers and the dreamy setting were just the bonus.

I’m so excited to finally share this session, and even more excited that I get to watch these two say I do! soon. 🥹💍

I have some very exciting (and very personal) news to share!
My husband and I were actually legally married in a courthouse in 2020 during COVID after our original wedding plans were completely changed when the world shut down. At the time, we never got to have the celebration we had dreamed of.

Fast forward six years, three kids later, and we are finally having our wedding celebration this Saturday surrounded by the people we love most. 💛✨

Because of that, I will be out of the office until next week as I take time to prep for and fully enjoy our wedding weekend.

📌 During this time:

💌 I will not be responding to emails, texts, calls, or messages
📸 Editing is also paused for the week
