Ahhh The wedding. The day you have been planning for a year or more is weeks away and up until a month and a half ago you were so excited. Excited to see your family and friends, to walk into your venue decorated just the way you wanted it and dance the night away but mostly to walk down that isle and say I Do to your soulmate and best friend. The venue is paid for, the cake is paid for the caterer is paid for, as well as the DJ, the florist, the linens, tuxedos and a few more items depending on your design, so what now? First off contact each vendor and see where they stand with refunding you all or part of their fees. When talking to them, understand that they too are in this craziness and losing money so don’t expect a full refund. Also, most vendors don’t want to take a chance of harming their reputation and will work with you on some level. They may offer to supply their services to you at future date of your choice or give you available dates that they have open. You will not get all of your vendors to have the same open dates in the future so expect to make some changes. Great vendors do not take advantage of bad situations so stay calm. That part “ stay calm “ is key. Yes you are disappointed and yes it stinks that this is the year of your big day with all the preparations and also a pandemic. But the stories you will have to tell when it is all said and done. And trust me, this will be over soon and you WILL get married and you will run into other trials and tribulations during your life and will know that you can figure it all out.
So whether you decide to do a 180 and go from very big to very intimate wedding or reschedule after this pandemic has passed you will be beautiful in your gown walking down that isle and the person you are meant to be with will still be waiting for you. Good Luck !
