Wedding floral budget breakdown 🌸 Here’s how to think about it — and why the number you calculate isn’t quite the number you’ll pay. Swipe through 👉

Our floral calculator is a real planning tool — but it’s step one, not the final answer. Here’s what it does (and doesn’t) cover.

Every wedding floral estimate breaks into these five buckets. Each one uses a different amount of product, time, and mechanics — so each has its own price range.

Bridal bouquet, boutonnières, corsages — if you know your headcount, this part of the estimate is nearly exact. This may differ depending on size and style of the bouquet or boutonnière.

A pair of urn arrangements is simple. A floral arch or hanging installation needs way more design time, mechanics, and setup labor — which is why this category has the widest range.

120 guests could mean 12 tables of 10, or 15 tables of 8 — and that difference changes how many centerpieces you actually need.

Floral estimate + a 30% labor charge + sales tax + delivery & setup (for full service) = your final number. The labor charge covers the real work — ordering, conditioning, designing, installing, and being there on the day. This includes mileage, hours onsite, hiring other designers to help, and van rentals.

Flowers are a product of Mother Nature— premium or out-of-season blooms cost more. Flexible, seasonal color palettes almost always stretch your budget further.

Ceremony photos → arch & aisle flowers. Reception atmosphere → centerpieces & candles. Guest experience → entry & bar flowers. You don’t need it all — just what tells your story.

Comment BUDGET and I’ll send you our free wedding floral calculator — a real starting point for your planning. 💐

Meet your wedding florist 🤍
I’m Tara, designer at Peterson’s Patch Florals. My style is romantic and garden-inspired — soft, lush, and full of movement, created using a mix of farm-grown and wholesale flowers.
Flowers should make you feel something and evoke emotion. That’s what drives every bouquet and every design I create.
This page is where I’ll share designs, behind-the-scenes prep, and the process behind bringing your wedding vision to life.
So glad you’re here — follow along for more, and if you’re planning a wedding, send me a DM. Let’s create something beautiful together 🤍

A little update from Peterson’s Patch 🌸
As the wedding side of my business continues to grow, I’m slowly making a few changes here so this page can better reflect the work I’m creating for my couples.
Going forward, Petersonspatchflorals will be focused more on weddings, floral design, real events, behind-the-scenes installations, inspiration, and the garden-inspired work that has become such a big part of Peterson’s Patch.
But don’t worry — the farm isn’t going anywhere. 🌿
I’ve created a new page, Tara Peterson , where I’ll be sharing all the things you’re used to seeing here: farm stand updates, farmers markets, what’s blooming, harvests, locally grown bouquets, and everyday life on the flower farm.
I’m doing this so each side of the business has room to grow and so when couples come here looking for wedding inspiration, they can easily see the kind of work I create — while my local flower-loving community still has a dedicated place to follow everything happening on the farm.
The two will always be connected. So many of the flowers you see in my wedding work begin right here in the field. 💕
If you love the farm stand, locally grown flowers, and seeing what’s blooming in Sterling, please head over and follow Petersonspatchflowerfarm so you don’t miss anything.
And thank you for growing along with me. 🌸

If I were getting married in August or September, these are the flowers I’d be choosing every single time. 🌸✨

Late summer is such a beautiful season for flowers—especially when you can use blooms that are actually grown right here on the farm.

My dream lineup:
🌸 Dahlias for all the texture + color
🤍 Calla lilies for something modern and elegant
✨ Rose lilies for that unexpected wow factor
🌿 Lisianthus for the soft, romantic movement

One of my favorite things about growing flowers for weddings is being able to design with what’s at its absolute best in that season. And August + September? They give us some GOOD options.

Which one would make it into your wedding bouquet? Tell me below. 👇

She loved flowers. So I filled the room with them. 🤍

This weekend’s flowers weren’t for a wedding.

They were created for a Celebration of Life at Maple Lane Farms, honoring a woman whose love of flowers was part of who she was.

When I first walked into the barn, the tables were waiting. Slowly, I began adding bud vases—one after another—along with larger statement arrangements filled with color, movement, and life.

And the entire room changed.

That’s something I never take for granted about flowers.

They celebrate with us during some of life’s happiest moments, but they can also bring beauty, comfort, and a little softness when words simply aren’t enough.

Creating flowers for a day like this carries a different kind of responsibility. My hope was that when her family walked into this room, they didn’t simply see beautiful arrangements.

I hope they saw her.

A little piece of something she loved, surrounding the people who loved her.

It was an honor to create this for her family. 🤍

Flowers should make you feel something. Sometimes, they say what we can’t.
