Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy😋😋
Ingredients
1-pound breakfast sausage, hot or mild
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 to 4 cups whole milk, more to taste
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, more to taste
12 cooked biscuits, warmed, for serving
How To Make Pioneer Woman Sausage Gravy
With your finger tear small pieces of sausage and add them in a single layer to a large heavy skillet. Brown the sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Sprinkle on half the flour and stir so that the sausage soaks it all up, then add more little by little. Stir it around and cook it for another minute or so, then pour in the milk, stirring constantly.
Cook the gravy, stirring frequently until it thickens (this may take a good 10 to 12 minutes). Sprinkle in the seasoned salt and pepper and continue cooking until very thick and luscious. If it gets too thick too soon, just splash in another 1/2 cup of milk or more if needed. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Spoon the sausage gravy over warm biscuits and serve immediately. This recipe can be easily doubled to serve 24.

Homemade Krispy Kremes 💖 - A Recipe You Don’t Wanna Miss!
Ingredients
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons boiling water
1 teaspoon dry active yeast
8 ounces all-purpose flour ( a little under 2 cups, I recommend you measure and weigh. See my note above)
1 1/2 ounces sugar ( about 3 tablespoons)
1 egg
1 ounce butter, cold to room temperature
1 dash salt
oil
Glaze
1/3 cup butter
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons hot water ( or as needed)
Directions
In a large measuring jug, combine the milk and boiling water. Add a teaspoon of the sugar and the yeast. Stir it gently, then leave it in a warm place for the yeast to activate (aka foam).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, the rest of the sugar, and the salt. Cut in the butter using your fingers or a pastry blender, until it resembles crumbs.
Add the egg (give it a quick beat) and yeast mixture to the flour mix, and mix into a smooth dough. This usually takes about 5 minutes of mixing.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly-floured counter and knead for about 5 to 10 minutes—it should feel springy and little bubbles should form under the surface. Place it back in the bowl, cover with a cloth or plastic wrap, and let rise for about an hour until double in size.
Once risen, place the dough onto the counter and cut it into 4 pieces. One piece at a time, stretch it into a long rope about an inch to an inch and a half wide. Cut strips about an inch long, ball em up with your hands, and place them on a baking tray or wire rack to wait.
Cover the doughnuts holes with a cloth to rise while you heat the oil to 375°F.
Place the doughnuts into the oil and fry until golden brown on each side, about 2 minutes. Be sure to fry only a few at a time so they don’t overcrowd and stick together.
Drain on a paper towel or wire rack over a cloth, before glazing them. Be sure to glaze them warm, or else they won’t get that delicious coverage!

New York Cheesecake - Don’t Lose This Recipe 😋
Ingredients
5 large eggs, room temperature
2 cups (one pint) sour cream, room temperature
4 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
8 tablespoons (one stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
Directions
Generously butter the inside of a 10-inch springform pan. Wrap a double layer of heavy-duty aluminum foil tightly around the outside bottom and sides, crimping and pleating the foil to make it conform to the pan. This will help to prevent water seeping into the pan when you put it into the bain-marie. Position the baking rack in the center of the oven; preheat the oven to 300* Fahrenheit.
In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the eggs with the sour cream until well blended.
In a medium-sized bowl, beat the cream cheese with the butter until smooth and creamy. Add this to the egg-sour cream mixture and beat until smooth.
Add the sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, lemon juice and lemon zest and beat thoroughly, about 2 minutes.
Pour into the prepared springform pan and place in a roasting pan (or other pan) large enough to prevent the sides from touching. Place in the oven and carefully pour in enough very hot tap water to reach halfway up the sides of the springform pan.
Bake for 2 hours, 15 minutes, or until the cake is very lightly colored and a knife inserted in the center emerges clean. Remove from the water bath and carefully peel the aluminum foil from around the pan. Let stand at room temperature until completely cool, about 4 hours. Refrigerate, covered, until well chilled. For best flavor and texture, this cheesecake is best chilled overnight.

Super Easy 4 Ingredient Cheese Biscuits

I've had many folks message me that they can't make biscuits of any kind. Well, these 4 ingredient ones are one you might want to give a try. There is no shortening or lard in these, and the butter is just for brushing on top once they are done. No rolling them out just drop and go. The best part is they freeze very well so you can make up a batch that will last for a while. I fixed mine to go with some broccoli cheese soup the other day, so very good together.

I hope y'all are enjoying the once-a-month week of 5 ingredient or less recipes. I think they are helpful as they use most items we normally keep on hand and with times as they are the easier and less ingredients the better. I remember my Great Granny Hollis used very few ingredients when she cooked. As I recall, in her kitchen was a flour and sugar sack, salt and pepper up on the hearth and the veggies came from the root cellar out back. Papa rendered the lard from hog killings and that was kept up on the hearth as well. She had minimal cabinets, none that held food of any kind, but those few ingredients would make a meal when we all came to visit. Somewhere from my childhood to adulthood I forgot about the cotton fields next to their house and the fact that Papa farmed cotton until Mama reminded me of that a few years ago. I remember everything else about their land right down to the Sears and Robuck catalog in the outhouse but cotton I completely forgot about. That's how they made a living back then and Mama said she and her brother would help pick that cotton at times. I try to picture Mama picking cotton, she's not much of an outdoors type person, but I guess back then you did what you had too to help the family.

Super Easy 4 Ingredient Cheese Biscuits (makes approx. 16)

2 C. self rising flour
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese (shred your own for this recipe)
1 1/2 to 1 1/3 C. milk (whole milk works best)
2 T. butter, melted

In a bowl combine the flour and cheese. Gradually add the milk, combining to a wet, sticky, consistency. You're not making a dough here, you want a little more moisture than if you were making regular biscuits. Once combined, use a small ice cream scoop (spray it with cooking spray to make it easier) and scoop up some of the mixture and place the mounds on a lightly greased baking sheet, spacing about 2" apart. Bake them in a 350 degree oven for 18-22 minutes. Brush with the melted butter once they are done.
