Experience the Journey Tour That Never Was, this November at the Emma Kelly Theater!

NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT!
Join Trial by Fire: Tribute to Journey as they bring to life the 1996 Trial by Fire Tour that never happened.

In 1996, Journey reunited with legendary frontman Steve Perry and released Trial by Fire, their first album together in a decade. Plans for a worldwide tour were cut short when Perry suffered a devastating injury, leaving fans to wonder what could have been.

Now, Trial by Fire pays homage to that lost moment in rock history. This unforgettable show imagines the setlist, energy, and spectacle of the tour Journey fans never got to see—packed with iconic hits from the Trial by Fire album and classics from the Steve Perry era.

Don’t miss your chance to relive the magic and experience the Trial by Fire Tour as it might have been.

Answering a popular question: Do you need a partner to sign up for the new Averitt Center Salsa & Bachata dance workshop?

ANSWER: Nope!
Previously, we had a ballroom dance workshop where you were required to bring a partner. This new Salsa & Bachata dance workshop does NOT require a partner to sign up with you.

When you sign up online or over the phone, you'll register just yourself. Our instructor, Claudia Herbas, will provide further instructions on partner pairs once the workshop begins.

We had a great time in the Emma Kelly Theater this past weekend! Let's keep the music playing!

This week, we're switching to a different vibe and enjoying some Christian folk music by music artists Baily Hager & Jimmy Clifton!

Jimmy writes songs that hit your soul deep with raw emotion, hard truths, and praise. Paired with a perfect blend of smooth guitar strumming and down-to-earth yet ethereal vocal harmonies, Jimmy's music uplifts and inspires people from all walks of life.

Baily's music is more upbeat and pop in style and draws people in with honest lyrics that resonate with everyone's struggles while staying true to her own story.

Come hang out with us in the Emma Kelly Theater this Thursday at 7:30pm!
Tickets are available on our website or by calling our box office at 912-212-2787.

Every year, the Averitt Center for the Arts hosts annual ceremonies in commemoration of Veterans' Day & Memorial Day. This has become a treasured tradition for us and the community to honor, recognize, and remember the brave individuals who served our country.

Over the past year, we've also been working with the Statesboro branch of the American Legion, the Dexter Allen Post 90, to provide seats in our theater for legion members to enjoy the performing arts and connect with the community they dedicatedly served to protect.

Yesterday, the Averitt Center for the Arts & our executive director, Robert Faller, were commended by the American Legion and awarded certificates of appreciation for generosity. Although we didn't expect any recognition, we are truly honored to receive this certificate and appreciate knowing that our actions have had a positive impact on the lives of our local veterans. We would like to thank all the members of The American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 & Auxiliary for their time, support, and service.

Extra thanks go to Brandi Harvey for capturing this moment and to our executive director for allowing us to share his photo (he's not a big fan of the camera, sorry boss. 😂).
