Over Memorial Day Weekend we should have been tangoing in Tahoe. Sigh. Hopefully, next year. In the meantime, we (Tango by the River) is very excited to be part of this cool new event -- the Tango Exercise Marathon! And it starts tomorrow!

Dear Tangueros,

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 Lake Tahoe Tango Festival. We kept hoping that perhaps by the end of May the Coronavirus would have run its course and we could get back to life and tango, but that is looking less and less likely. So we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event.

For those who made hotel reservations, please contact the resort directly at (800) 648-3353 to cancel your reservation as soon as possible; the resort will refund your deposit in full.

For those of you who paid online via Square, we have passed the deadline for doing an online refund and we will need to mail you a check. Please contact me directly with the correct name and address to mail your check.

There are, of course, many expenses which we have already covered that are not refundable. For those of you who can afford to do so, we would very much appreciate any donation you might like to make. For those of you who can, any amount helps – you could even authorize us to return, say, all but $100 of the amount you paid. This would be very much appreciated, as it would help us pay some of the debts we have incurred in setting up the festival. If you choose to do this, please let us know via email.

I hope that you and your families are doing well during these unprecedented times. And let us hope that we stay healthy and get back to work and dancing tango again soon …
