Freedom Flowers

Freedom Flowers Freedom Flowers specializes in growing heirloom, old-fashioned, and rare flower varieties treasured for their scent and beauty.

Available for purchase via Bouquet Club, seasonally at our Happy Valley Farmstand or DIY Bridal Buckets. Owned & Operated by Mom/Wife/Homemaker and Avant Gardener extraordinaire', Tracy Sundby. Passion for flowers and gardening runs deep in my veins, and goes back generations. This spring I dove headfirst into growing and sharing blooms to give me more freedom as a Mother to be at home with my son

. ‘Freedom Flowers’ was born, and I have never been more certain of knowing this is my path. Since March 2022 I’ve sold blooms locally in coffee shops/boutiques, gifted bouquets to family/neighbors and strangers, provided florals for elopements, and hosted flower-crown creating playshops. I’m humbled by the possibilities that have come my way since I started believing in myself. Visit our Seasonal (April-Oct) “Free Little Seed Library” and Farmstand on Happy Valley Road in Stanwood, WA. Growing flowers, sharing plant knowledge, educating community they can have a ‘green thumb’ and seeing beauty from seed to vase brings me immense gratification.

🌦️November used to be a real tricky time for me. Short dark rainy days & lack of sun. Mix that with feelings of grief from my Brothers death twelve years ago and I just never had the warm and fuzzy feelings many people celebrate at the start of what is supposed to be such a happy & festive season. I used to enter the season with the upmost dread. 💀 Then God gave me my sweet little November baby, Waylon Paul & guided me toward stewarding Heirloom Chrysanthemums which happen to be the birth flower of November. A sign? I think so! Fast forward to now and my attitude has changed about this time of year tremendously. I no longer dread November, but I actually welcome it. Never thought I would be able to say that!

💙We celebrated our sweet Waylon’s 2nd Birthday this weekend which is hard to believe. Should also note that I will be celebrating five years of sobriety this month alcohol free. Feels like a milestone worth commemorating that I honestly don’t talk about much! 🏆 I’ve been asked before why I quit drinking and I’ll share in case it could help someone else. No I didn’t hit a rock bottom, I just didn’t want alcohol to have any control over me or my decisions anymore. That’s it. I read a book by Annie Grace called “This Naked Mind” and it changed my relationship with alcohol forever. Maybe I’ll drink again someday, I don’t really know but just don’t really feel like it today and probably won’t tomorrow either. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just feels wicked awesome to take back your power over something that controlled many decisions for so long. Anyways! Back to what we have been up to…

Spending the fall days tagging Heirloom Mums for our big spring sale and documenting varieties. We have had some incredible weather days allowing us to spend much more time outside than usual. Also makes for a fantastic Mum year!

🌼Learning about these plants has been fascinating and rewarding. I hope you’ll grow some with me next year if you aren’t already, because you’ve got to admit aren’t you jealous of all the Chrysanthemums on your feed right now? 😂🙋🏼‍♀️

📸 Thanks to Katie for taking family pics. Will share more soon from the shoot!

Happy Halloween from our Tiny Pirates 🎃 Swipe to the last slides to see Captain Hook and a rather Pouty Pirate 🏴‍☠️

After Halloween passes it seems as though the season fades quickly into shorter days, with much less light. It will start to get dark around 5pm next week which absolutely gives me the winter scareys 😬Lucky for Chrysanthemums they absolutely adore the shorter days and begin blooming their divine heads off as long as Mother Nature allows. Swimming in their bounty and am so grateful for the cheer they bring on a drerry day. ☔️ Varieties seem to be blooming much later this season, but I was still able to create a few mixed seasonal Heirloom Chrysanthemum arrangements to enter into the Evergreen Chrysanthemum Associations 79th Annual Show held this weekend. I invite you to swing by, and fall madly in love with the Chrysanthemum tomorrow, November 1st & Sunday the 2nd at Volunteer Park Observatory from 10-4PM.

🌼Evented hosted by and held yearly Truly looking forward to attending the show tomorrow and seeing all the incredible blooms from the clubs talented growers. Hope you’ll join!

Happy Arlington Farm Tours Week Ya’ll! Proud to be a stop on the map this year with our Little Free Seed Library 🌱

It is Arlington Farm Tours Week, it is a celebration of all the great things the farms in our community do each day!

The first event is on Tuesday from 8 AM to Noon at Floral Current's Wholesale Flower Sale, here you can meet with your local flower farmers, and learn about sustainable flower farming in our community. Get to know what to purchase when, and how you too can grow flowers at home that are healthy and beautiful.

One of those steps is seeds, and that leads us to one of our flower farms on the tour, , who is part of the flower collective at Floral Current.

One of the stops available on your Farm Tours Passport will be Freedom Farm Flowers on Happy Valley Road. This year they have their wonderful seed library open and waiting for you.

Visit the 'Little Free Seed Library'
on Happy Valley Road in Stanwood, WA

Take a packet, leave a packet. Don’t have a packet to leave? ..That’s okay. Just make a donation, or promise to grow, harvest and deposit seeds back into the library next season. Our ancestors used to swap seeds with their neighbors all the time. Making deposits into the seed library allows us to continue giving back to our community and honor old traditions.

Open seasonally unless posted otherwise on Instagram. If you are planning a visit, shoot us a message and we will make seeds available to you.

We have a lot of flower farm options this year on our Arlington Farm Tours Weekend, we also have Ninety Farms Sunflower Festival, Purple Robe Arlington Lavender Farm, Pretty Flower Farm just across the road from Arlington Lavender, Mount River Farm on Highway 530 and Our Legacy Fields.

Floral Current and Arlington Lavender Farm are also both part of the Arlington Farmers Market. The Flower Farmers of Floral Current take turns greeting you each week with boquets and smiles.

💚Freedom Flowers is a proud member of the Snohomish County Flower Collective for a 3rd Year!

🌱We’re a group of passionate flower growers working together to make sustainable, locally grown blooms more accessible to our communities. This year, instead of a weekly in-person market, we’re launching a Fresh Sheet—a curated list of what’s blooming each week across 20+ farms straight to your inbox every Sunday beginning May 4th.

Our goal is to connect industry professionals and flower lovers alike with local growers across the North Puget Sound region. Through farmer-direct sales, farm tours, educational outreach, and shared resources, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable local flower economy—together. Whether you’re a designer, florist, or just someone who loves flowers, follow to learn more.
