This week's featured stay is Cabin #12: Lydia's Junction at Lydia Mountain Lodge & Log Cabins in Stanardsville, Virginia.

From the outside, Lydia's Junction has the look of a classic timber barn, natural cedar siding, a covered upper porch, and a gravel drive that winds in through the fall foliage. But step through the door and the real surprise is inside: a private, fully enclosed courtyard at the heart of the cabin, ringed by two stories of guest rooms and open to the sky above.

What Makes It Special?
The showstopper here is the indoor-outdoor courtyard, turfed, covered by a soaring wood-beamed roof, and built for group hangs no matter the weather. Picture:
