Forget the wedding trend reports for a second. Here’s what we’re actually seeing at REAL weddings and events throughout Connecticut and New York!

→ Couples putting more thought into how their guests are cared for throughout the event.

→ More couples realizing they don’t need to do everything themselves—or hand a list of jobs to their family and friends.

→ Tasks being delegated to an experienced team so the people invited to the wedding can actually be guests at the wedding.

→ More attention being paid to the little things that keep an event moving, from setup and guest needs to keeping things organized behind the scenes.

And personally? We love seeing it.

Because some of the best decisions you can make for your wedding aren’t about what it looks like. They’re about how it feels to be there—for you, your family and every person you invited to celebrate with you.

Will “letting your guests be guests” make the 2027 wedding trend reports? Probably not. But we’d happily see more of it!

When the review comes in before our client has even made it home, we can’t help but smile. But hearing that this was the first holiday they’d relaxed and enjoyed in 30 years? That means even more.

When our team handles the setup, serving and cleanup, you get to spend your time catching up with family and enjoying the gathering, without keeping a running list of what needs to happen next.

As I took my daily walk recently, I could not help but notice the start of the change of the season from summer to fall. And suddenly, an old Country Song popped into my head, by Don Williams, “I believe in you,” and I started to take note of all the things I love about fall. In the spirit of Gretchen Rubin | Happiness Expert “Five things that Make Me Happy” list, I thought I would share my list with you, too.⁠

I love the clear blue skies, and the wispy white clouds, I love the rustle of the falling leaves and the gentle breeze, and the warm sun in the sky.⁠

I love the changing colors of the leaves, and the rich orange hues, pumpkins, cornstalks, squash and gourds for decorating with, too.⁠
⁠
I love the diffuse light of the earlier setting sun, allowing our string lights to shine sooner.⁠
⁠
I love the smell of the crisp autumn air, sweaters or jackets, blazers and hoodies, too.⁠
⁠
I love fall color palates, squash or pumpkin soup, or pumpkin ravioli with brown butter sauce.⁠

Can we normalize not doing it all yourself?

Somewhere along the way, hosting an event started to come with the expectation that you should also be able to manage every moving part of it. And we don't just mean for weddings. The expectations have gotten higher and higher for gatherings at home, kids' birthday parties, and more. And you shouldn't have to be everything!

There’s nothing wrong with asking for help and delegating the work that doesn’t need to be yours. Having an experienced team there to handle setup, keep things moving, care for your guests and take care of what comes up throughout the event gives you the chance to be present for it, too.

You planned the event because you wanted to bring people together. You deserve to be part of it, not spend the whole time working it.
