Fall & Winter in the Catskills are beautiful—but wet, fallen leaves, snow, ice, cold, wind, changing weather and shorter days can turn a familiar trail into a very different experience.

Join Trail Sisters Catskills for a 60-minute out-and-back hike on the Catskill Scenic Trail, followed by a casual cold-weather hiking gear show-and-tell and conversation in The Function at Catskills Junction, 28 RR Ave in Stamford NY.

This isn’t about having the most expensive gear or being an expert. It’s about learning from each other, seeing what experienced hikers actually carry and wear, and building confidence for getting outside when the temperatures drop.

We’ll talk about being prepared for everything from a short local hike to a full day in the mountains or a Catskills high peak—including how to stay warm and dry, deal with snow and ice, choose traction and poles, prepare for changing weather, and know what you need when the day doesn’t go exactly as planned.

Bring your questions and, if you’d like, bring a piece of your own winter hiking gear to share. Let’s learn from one another and get ready to keep exploring all season long.

Rainy days make a day in the kitchen studio extra cozy…
There’s a whole lot of handwork that goes into one little Wonder Woolie.
First, MommaWonder takes each natural artisan bar of soap and carefully wraps it in a blend of locally sourced alpaca wool and Corriedale sheep’s roving wool.
Then comes the felting, which transforms the soft, fluffy wool into a snug little coat around the soap. Every bar is hand-felted individually, so each Wonder Woolie is just a little bit different.
And the best part?
You don't take the wool off to use it. 🤍
The wool becomes your natural exfoliator while the soap creates those silky, luxurious suds right through the fibers. It gently buffs away dry skin while you wash, without needing a separate washcloth or scrubber.
As you use the soap, the wool shrinks right along with the bar, keeping everything together until you've used the soap all the way down. Then compost or use for other cleaning.
It’s simple. Natural. Practical. And a little bit magical.

**TONIGHT’S LEATHERSTOCKING JAZZ CONCERT IS MOVING INDOORS! 🎺🎷**

Due to the weather, tonight’s **7 PM Leatherstocking Jazz concert** has been moved from Veterans Memorial Park to **The Function at Catskills Junction**.

Come hear **Leatherstocking Jazz**, a 16-piece big band made up of music teachers, professional musicians, and students, bringing the full big-band sound to Stamford — just indoors and out of the weather!
