Event: SIUE vs. Belmont University Bears. Friday, April 15, 2022.

Location: SIUE Tennis Courts. Edwardsville, Illinois.

Information: SIUE's Jill Lambrechts celebrates after a point in her 6-3, 6-3 win over Belmont's Somer Henry in No. 2 singles on Friday afternoon. The Belgian native improved to 15-2 in spring singles play. Unfortunately her efforts were not enough as the Cougars fell to the visiting Bruins 4-3 in a competitive Ohio Valley Conference match.

Information: The top women gymnasts continued to chase their Olympic dreams for two days at The Dome in St. Louis at the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team Trials. Seventeen women via for the opportunity to represent the US in Tokyo in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games.

Event: The Pit Elite Teen Throwdown. Day 2. Event 4, "Boot Hill Cemetery". Saturday, September 5, 2020.

Location: The Pit Fitness Ranch. Three Rivers, Michigan.

Information: Scenes from Event 4 of the 14-15 year old girls division at the Pit Elite Teen Throwdown. Event 4, called "Boot Hill Cemetery", kicked off Day 2 of competition and consisted of 20 70-lb D-Ball squats followed by 200-meter 30-lb sandbag sprint to the top of LND Mountain. Sophie Shaft and Rebekah Devine tied for the top time, reaching the top of LND in 1:46.

Location: The Pit Fitness Ranch. Three Rivers, Michigan.

Information: Scenes from Event 4 of the 16-17 year old boys division at the Pit Elite Teen Throwdown. Event 4, called "Boot Hill Cemetery", kicked off Day 2 of competition and consisted of 20 150-lb D-Ball squats followed by 200-meter 60-lb sandbag sprint to the top of LND Mountain. Daniel Kuc edged Anthony Re to the top of the mountain Keegan, winning with a time of 1:44, one second ahead of Re.

Event 4, called "Boot Hill Cemetery", kicked off Day 2 of competition and consisted of 20 100 lb D-Ball squats followed by 200 meter 45-lb sandbag sprint to the top of LND Mountain. Keegan New won the event with a time of 1:41, his second event win of the competition.

Event: 2020 Heart of America Team Competition. Event 7. September 26, 2020.

Location: Proximal Strength. Springfield, Missouri.

Information: Competing in her first ever CrossFit competition, former Missouri gymnast Morgan Porter sizes of the rings as she prepares to do a set of six ring muscle-ups during event 7 on the second day of competition at the Heart of America Team Competition. Her team would finish 24th in the Scaled division. Five months later she would finish 2,095 in world in her first career NOBULL CrossFit Games Open. She would advance to the Quarterfinals where she would 801st out of over 3,500 women in North America.

Event: NOBULL CrossFit Games Open. Workout 21.2. Monday, March 22, 2021.

Location: Gambit Fitness. St. Louis, Missouri.

Information: The aftermath of NOBULL CrossFit Games Open workout 21.2 was both physical and mental. Kelley Jackson Essig displays the battle scars after redoing the workout on Monday. She finished the workout in 11:21 which unofficially places her 498th in the world. On the overall leaderboard, the three-time Games veteran, ranks 339th.

School: Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars.

Event: SIUE vs. Saint Louis University Billikens. Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Location: Edwardsville YMCA. Edwardsville, Illinois.

Information: SIUE's Vanessa Reinicke was able to rally from dropping her first set to SLU's Mariona Perez in No. 3 singles to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday morning. The German native improved to 3-1 in singles matches this season helping the Cougars to a 5-2 win over their nonconference rivals.

Event: The Fittest Experience. Event 6, "Walk It Like I Talk It". Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Division: Pro Individual Women.

Location: Williamson County Expo Center. Taylor, Texas.

Information: The women concluded day 1 at the Fittest Experience with "Walk It Like I Talk It", a triplet consisting of four rounds of handstand walks, shoulder-to-overheads and toe-to-bars. Danielle Brandon dominated the event finishing nealy a minute and half ahead of second place finisher Samantha Pugh.

School: Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars.

Event: SIUE vs. Jacksonville State University Gamecocks. Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Location: Sam M. Vadalabene Center. Edwardsville, Illinois.

Information: The Cougars fell 3-1 to Jacksonville State in their home opener on February 14. Three Cougars recorded double digit kills led by Savannah Christian's 15 kills. Sarah Armendariz dished out 43 assists. Jordyn Klein led the team with 12 digs.

School: Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks.

Event: GymQuarters Mardi Gras Invitational. Friday, February 12, 2021.

Location: The Family Arena. St. Charles, Missouri.

Information: The SEMO gymnastics team continued the long-standing tradition of competing at the prestigious GymQuarters Mardi Gras Invitational, finishing fourth in a six team field with a score of 191.725 just behind host and MIC rival Lindenwood University. Sophomore Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso and Junior Anna Kaziska were the teams top performers with Solorzano-Caruso finishing second in the all-around and Kaziska placing second on the floor.

Event: SIUE vs. the University of Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars. Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Location: Edwardsville YMCA. Edwardsville, Illinois.

Information: The Cougars picked up their third win of the season with a dominating 6-1 win over visiting USI at the Edwardsville YMCA indoor courts on February 7. Freshman Jordan Schifano picked up wins on No. 1 Doubles with redshirt freshman Jill Lambrechts before making her collegiate No. 1 singles debut with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Carol Quevedo.
