It's our two year anniversary in April!!! We're so excited to get back to our roots with a little live music for y'all next Wednesday, April 16th. Please come see Faye Saint perform in the venue room from 8:00 - 9:00pm!

From Faye:
Faye Saint is a 19 year old self-taught musician! They play guitar, ukulele, and piano. Their favorite genre is Alt-rock, and they are working towards getting their bachelors degree in music! They love dressing in 70’s fashion, and they have a soft spot for all things 90’s!! They are stoked perform for Q***rtown.

Introducing this month’s guest DJ for our event this Wednesday, March 19! ✨ Monarch Events Co-Owner, JOJO, has created of one of the biggest q***r forward event production companies in Saint Louis and a driving force in the St. Louis nightlife scene. Known for his electrifying energy & tech house sound, he fills up venues like Just John, Rehab, Handlebar, Hidden Gem, and numerous Pride events. Most recently providing direct support for Nostalgix, JOJO brings a fun a bright energy to every room he spins in!

Come buy yummy baked goods and beautiful local art for your home at our next event on 3/19 at Platypus! All proceeds will go to supporting families in Gaza surviving genocide. Funds will go to Dahnoun Mutual Aid, a grassroots organization made by Gazawi's inside and outside the Gaza Strip. Spend your coin to support basic human rights by funding tents for displaced families, daily clean water trucks, and food aid. Venmo preferred, cash and card accepted.

We’re so excited to welcome February’s guest DJ, DJ Monie Loveee! She will be spinning in the bar room of Platypus from 8:30 - 9:30pm during our February 19th event! Symone “Monie” Palmer is a DJ and music enthusiast with multiple creative facets hailing from St. Louis, MO. Monie has been able to develop her sound, style, and crowd presence through recent years. For her, it’s all about creating a vibe that the audience can connect with. When she’s not performing, she spends her time balancing her freelance career as a graphic designer, photographer, and shoe customizer.

Tonight! Brigitte Soleil returns for a guest DJ spot in the front room from 8:00-9:30pm.

As always, Q***rtown is a free mix and mingle event for LGBTQ+ folks! Tonight features a special event in the venue room, called F.A.M.M. Night - Friends And Maybe More. For more information on this, refer to our last post. Sign-ups for F.A.M.M. night this month are full with a waitlist. We will definitely host it again in the future!

This post is information for those who signed up for our F.A.M.M. speed dating event tomorrow:
✨ This part will ONLY TAKE PLACE IN THE THIRD VENUE ROOM. The rest of Platypus is free range for regular Q***rtown mixing.
✨ Please arrive by 8pm to check in, fill out name tags, date notecard, get comfy and find a spot, etc. The dates will start at 8:30pm sharp!
✨ As it approaches 8:30pm, we will notify anyone on the waitlist if any spots have opened up.
✨ Folks will be assigned into 2 different groups... Q and U of course!
✨ One group will remain seated while the other group rotates through until all of the Q's have met all of the U's.
✨ Each little meeting will be 3.5 minutes and you'll use your date notecard to identify who you'd like to connect with further.
✨ Notecards will be turned in at the end and then we will reach out to Q's and U's who both indicate they'd like to connect further with one another.
✨ We will need whatever contact information you'd like to share so that we can reach out and also to share with any matches. Phone and email or phone and IG are examples of what will work best. (This information will only be used by QU hosts to contact you, and will not be shared otherwise.)
✨ When the dating is over (approx. 1 hour), folks are encouraged to mingle so the Q's and Us can meet folks from their own groups. Time does not allow for everyone to meet everyone during the sit-down speed dating portion. Don't worry, we'll have more of these!
