Two for the price of one?? Hell ya. Nothing like a good diptych on my favorite film type — Polaroid packfilm aka peel-apart. This stuff is like gold these days so I have to treat it as such. This very uncommon Nagaoka back for the RB67 lets me squeeze in two photos on one Polaroid which is pretty amazing and a fun artistic constraint to work within. These were shot on expired Polaroid 665 from 2006.

Now if only the film was still $10/pack. R.I.P.

And now for something a bit softer.
Katelyn in studio on 120 HP5 film. With the brand new 4x5 Pan F shot at the end! The stockings were such a nice touch for a bit of texture.

Shot on 120/peels/4x5. Oh and the Charmera

Oh just new (and old!) film goofin with Katelyn on some very rare Polaroid peel-apart film called 51HC meant for fingerprint/evidence reproduction in police stations. Shout out to my friend Sophie for finding it. There’s a negative and a high contrast print. Not meant for portraits but you can’t stop me!

We shot some shadowy looks for the new 4x5 Ilford Pan F film and some 120 HP5 and the Kodak Charmera. The Pan F is the last shot!

A bit of cross pollination to compare new Pan F film with some of the most rare expired Polaroid peel-apart film I own thanks to my friend Sophie. It’s called 51HC which stands for high contrast and gives you a positive and a negative. She acquired it from a police station a few years back and I’m grateful for the box! It’s a wild ride to try and get a good exposure.

Thought it was interesting to see compared to Pan F which just came out in 4x5. Love this shot of Katelyn in a surreal shadow world.

just released their Pan F film in 4x5 and I shot some in studio with my friend and . I used an old school overhead projector for some shots and overall tried to play with high contrast looks including a small still life. Halla and I just went B&W crazy! Love to see the first photo making the press rounds.

Also shot a couple Polaroids including a diptych Polaroid peel and an 8x10 Gosaic. Cheers to new film! Thanks

This Friday, Dec 5th! My 16mm short film “Material World” featuring my friend and poet, .branch, will be screening at the MoMA! I’d love for you to come and watch it with me. It’s free!

Zoe joined me on a chilly, fall morning to discuss analog mediums, tangible things, creating with intentionality and what it means to be using old tools in a new world. And that’s what this 16mm short film touches on.

I’ve been working on this film thanks to a workshop at to get trained on the Aaton LTR 16mm camera and the fully analog process of cutting and editing film on the Steenbeck. With a work print from , I manually cut and spliced the film together and the actual 16mm print will be screened, along with the other fall MONO workshops’ films, at the MoMA at 7pm! But arrive by 6:30!

A huge thanks to my AC/PA/mentor/friend for helping me with many steps of the process as well. And having a great convo with me and Zoe to kick off the shoot. And thanks to Zoe for being so willing to work with me on this and for being a long-time creative friend as well. And writing/reading the poem featured while I was actually filming!

And of course, thanks to as well! The best analog arts organization around! And for keeping film alive! See you there!
