Weddings are made up of a thousand little moments each one holding its own kind of magic.

For Carly and Todd, that magic was everywhere. In the tears and cheers of bridesmaids seeing her in her dress. In the way her dad’s face shifted from proud to emotional in an instant. In the sound of their names announced for the very first time as a married couple.
And later, in the joy that spilled onto the dance floor smiles, movement, music weaving together into the kind of night you never want to end.

These are the moments that remind us what weddings are really about. Not just the flowers, the décor, or even the planning itself. But the love, the people, and the energy that turns one day into a forever memory.

Joy wears many shades. Sometimes it’s loud. Cheers and clinking glasses. Sometimes it’s quiet. The pause before vows, the glance across a crowded room.

For me, yellow blooms hold both. They’re sunshine in a bouquet, unapologetically bold, yet soft enough to remind us that joy is layered. That it can be laughter and stillness, fullness and simplicity, all at once.

On wedding days, it’s never just about the flowers, or the tables, or the outfits. It’s about how all those pieces wrap around you and your people to create a moment that feels like home.

May you never forget to make space for joy in your planning and in your life.

There’s something about designing in a space with this much history that makes you want to shake things up a little.
Give it a new story. A fresh kind of romance.

This shoot at the Missouri History Museum is one of those moments I keep coming back to. Not just because it’s beautiful (it is), but because it feels like the kind of celebration I want more of. Artful. Emotional. A little rebellious. Full of contrast and intention.
