So my friend owns and runs which is a beautiful home decor company that has an amazing mission of helping women artists support their families and supporting girls education in Senegal.

She didn’t take me to Senegal for the wedding (have you seen the cost of flights??) but she didn’t take tap me to do some images here for the decor on the wedding day.

She’s the most amazing person and I’m honored that she is my friend (who I need to call because we need a taco date soon as busy season ends for me)

We did a great headshot partnership with as well! Wonderful event with a great team!
The thing I love most about creating a headshot with someone is it gives me a chance to really connect with people one-on-one. Getting to know people and understanding their goals and aspirations is my favorite part of the process. There’s something special about that personal interaction and helping people put their best foot forward. Headshots aren’t just about capturing a great photo - they’re about capturing the connection we create and highlighting who someone is in that shine.

That’s what makes this work so rewarding for me.

Somedays I have imposter syndrome. I feel like people shouldn’t hire me I’m totally not worth what I ask for. I’m insane to think I can do this…

And then other days I’m like are you out of your mind I am the 💩 and urine.

I have shot my ass off in 2024. Not in spaces I expected though- I have been humbled and reminded of many lessons this year.

Days of weddings and portraits and parties and corporate events and engagement sessions and headshots and… my children.

Someone - two people in the last 48 hours asked me what excites me about my work, and I think making art from these photos is the thing that excites me about my work.

Putting it on your wall and in your hands.
Making a thing you will hopefully look at for a long time.

A thing that will connect you to this moment. That you can see yourself as worthy of gorgeous art as I do…

I do too much. I pick the most beautiful papers and the most gorgeous canvas and frames. I know, but that’s what excites me.

And that’s how I’m gonna do it from now on.

If you don’t wanna hold those moments, I’m alright with not being the one, hire me for some corporate work that doesn’t call for that. But if we are shooting people you love, i don’t wanna give y’all digitals and pray you don’t go to Walgreens. I don’t wanna trust you know enough to choose beautifully for your walls.

That’s my job.

I still love my job. I am still very very good at it.
And I’m worthy.

And frankly so are you.
