NOT JUST PLAY NOT JUST PLAY is a PRIVATE PRESCHOOL! We offer Preschool, Pre-K, Young 5’s, & occasional Open Play. NOT JUST PLAY is an Early Childhood Academy!

We offer morning and afternoon sessions for Preschool and Pre-K. Our job is prepare kids for moving on to elementary school. We help our littles build solid foundations to continue learning upon.

There is bound to be some movement in enrollment before September gets here. We keep having people add and drop.

Currently, we have ONE 3 year old opening & ONE 4/5's opening.

If you are interested in having your child join us in the fall, I encourage you to move quickly. Enrollment is filled on a first come-first served basis.

We are so CLOSE! I got 2 more enrollments today, so that brings us to 49!!! I have a tour tomorrow, so fingers crossed we will make it to the finish line!! 🤞🏼🥰 LET'S GO!!

I am blown away by the outpouring of support you guys repeatedly give to our little school!

I have been approached by several people now about trying to do fundraising and a couple of offers/suggestions about sponsorship for a child to attend our school.

Here is my thought process:

If I have to solicit funds to keep the doors open, that is not a good business plan. It means my business model cannot support my expenses. Even though I don't make a "profit" I don't hold a non-profit status.

Also, as sweet and generous as it is, if someone was to sponsor a child's tuition for the year, I CANNOT BE INVOLVED. Why.....?
-I predict there would be backlash if I had to choose one family over another.
-We also have several families who are enrolled who are making sacrifices or pinching pennies in order for their child to attend and they would want to be considered as well. This would cause some tension/hurt feelings and to include them in a sponsorship would be a wash and not bring in more income.
-Lastly, we are in a time crunch and it would take a while to make this happen.

With all that being said, if you are truly interested sponsoring a child to attend our school, you would have to do it personally on your own, through your own FB page, a city page, or your own business page.

I am in no way expecting anyone to do this, but I felt compelled to respond to the messages I am receiving. You all are appreciated and I thank you for trying to think outside the box! ❤️💙💚

The idea of possibly losing our amazing preschool is devastating. I am torn between taking the high road and allowing things to naturally transpire or really sharing my opinions on the Free program that is essentially taking us down. Because after personally observing 2 free preschool classrooms and talking to several teachers who have walked away from teaching because of their frustrating experiences in the free program, I just don't get it.

If I could stand behind the Free State Funded preschool program, I would. I just can't. Kids deserve better.

One step forward 3 steps back. Things are not looking good.

I've done my best to be completely transparent about our situation with enrollment. Months ago I stated that I needed 55 students to be enrolled to make our budget. We did not make that, but we did get to 50 students enrolled.

I restructured our classes and felt confident that we could make it if we filled both classes with 52 kids-hoping that we would grab 2 more kids before fall.

Unfortunately, we haven't gained any more kids. In fact, when push comes to shove and money gets close to being due, that's when we see the true commitment from families. We have already had several people drop. We currently sit at 45 kids and that is just not enough.

I am supposed to roll out our 1st tuition installment invoices on Monday, but I need 7 more kids to enroll by then.

I have had calls, tours, etc but no one is committing. This is my last ditch effort to get people who want to join us in the fall, to get your enrollments in.

I will be making an announcement on Monday, June 15.
