🎉 Congratulations to Denny Schmickle on the successful closing of his solo exhibition!

We’re proud to celebrate the creative vision and professional accomplishments of Denny Schmickle, Associate Professor of Art & Design at Lindenwood University. His exhibition showcased almost 30 years’ worth of a bold, experimental, and deeply thoughtful approach that defines his work, from typography and branding to illustration, screen-printing, and pattern driven design.

Denny’s career spans an impressive range of creative achievements. After earning his B.A. in Art & Design from The College of the Ozarks and his MFA in Graphic Design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he built a practice that includes book cover design, brand identities, band merchandise, animated album covers, and more.

His work has been featured nationally, including representing Oklahoma in the Four by Four: Midwest Invitational at the Springfield Art Museum. That exhibition led to one of his most memorable projects: “Visual Overload,” a fully wrapped Tulsa Transit bus covered in his hand designed patterns. ✨

Since joining Lindenwood University in 2015, Denny has brought his professional expertise directly into the classroom, teaching Typography, Imaging & Illustration, Capstone, and additional courses that challenge students to think critically, design boldly, and solve problems creatively.

We’re grateful for the talent, leadership, and inspiration Denny brings to our Art & Design community. Congratulations on an outstanding exhibition!
