Biography

Born and raised in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains I have spent most of my life, hiking, kayaking and horseback riding in these beautiful blue hills. I have a passion for the great outdoors and it was from that I developed my passion for photography. In February of 2012 I had the opportunity to put this hobby to great use. I used my photography to raise money for my first mission

trip where I went to Arequipa. Since then I have been able to send donations to a feeding program for underprivileged children, Mitchell County Animal Shelter, and JAARS Inc. It is now my goal each year to pick one organization I truly believe in to donate to. This year it will be Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing in Asheville, NC. Captured the intense beauty and devastation of the Locust No. 2 wildfire last night. This fire is burning adjacent to U.S. 80 (Buck Creek) in McDowell County, NC. The first photo was taken at Laurel K**b Overlook on the BRP. The next photo was taken from Buck Creek.

I was trying to make my way to Mt.Mitchell this evening for some sunset photos in the snow. Sadly, the rangers were closing the parkway due to ice. I did get this image of a snowbow on my way home. Hopefully the gate will be open tomorrow. 🤞

Hey Y'all! As you know I've always focused on capturing the beauty of the Appalachian's on this page, but I've realized that my passion for sharing God's creation extends far beyond the Blue Ridge. I have found so much inspiration in so many breathtaking locations it doesn't seem right not to share it all here. Don't worry, Appalachia is my home and first true love so there will be plenty of Blue Ridge Photos to come. Moving forward I would love to start sharing more of my travel adventures with all!

To start, here is a an absolutely stunning sunrise I witnessed last week in Grand Teton National Park. The morning light sure emphasizes the beauty of those rugged peaks.
