Volunteer With Springs Historical Society
You don't have to be a historian or a farmer to play an important role on the Society team. You'll
find that sharing your time & talent as a volunteer is as fun as it is rewarding. Learn local history,
meet new people and help celebrate the rich history of the Casselman River Valley.
Opportunities:
HOST/HOSTESS
As a volunteer in our museum - meet visitors and make them feel welcome. Hosts/hostesses are
not expected to give tours or be an expert in local history. Our exhibits are self-explanatory, and
visitors usually prefer to go at their own pace.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Volunteers are needed to help with various specific projects.
DAY TO DAY
If you have some time, we would LOVE to hear from you
Like the SHS page on our website and check back often for further opportunities.

Sometimes collections make you smile. Note reads, "This knit bag belonged to Michael Dively my grandfather. Used as a purse for gold coins. The perfume bottle was a gift to Caroline Dively from her father Michael when she was a small child. The little book of verse a gift to Caroline Dively from William Smith when he courted her. Caroline S. Johnston." Unfortunately, we don't have the bottle--just the stopper. Without the note, there's no context. Documentation is everything.
