Wedding Trends for 2026: Italian Maximalism vs. CBK Minimalism
Which one feels more like you?
Honestly? We love both for completely different reasons.
Italian Maximalism feels playful, layered, sun-soaked, and full of life. Think long lunches that turn into dinners, Aperol spritzes under striped umbrellas, hand-painted tiles, citrus details, woven textures, patterned linens, and tables that feel collected over time rather than perfectly matched.
This trend works beautifully for outdoor celebrations, estate weddings, garden venues, patios, poolside receptions, or anywhere that naturally encourages an al fresco atmosphere. And the beauty of it is that it doesn’t try too hard to feel polished. The charm comes from the abundance of color, texture, pattern, fruit, florals, candlelight, layered tablescapes, and the feeling that every detail has personality. It's elegant and yet relaxed.
Now on the complete opposite end of the spectrum: CBK Minimalism.
And in case you’re wondering who CBK is, we’re talking about Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy — the 90s fashion icon known for making simplicity feel impossibly sophisticated.
This moodboard was inspired by what she represented so effortlessly: restraint, confidence, and timeless elegance.
We imagined a wedding that feels editorial and intimate. Soft draping overhead. White anthuriums floating across the tables. Warm candlelight. Black modern chairs. Stone table numbers. Leather place cards. Letter press invitations. A palette rooted in neutrals and texture instead of color. This trend screams quiet luxury and speak-easy ambiance.
We could absolutely picture an Old Fashioned for JFK Jr. and a dirty martini for Carolyn being passed during cocktail hour.
This trend feels like quiet luxury in its purest form — understated, cinematic, and deeply timeless.
