We have lots of green thanks to the rain! We will eventually get all of our annuals planted to add a pop of color! We did plant Bubblegum Supertunias in the concrete urns and Jazzberry Supertunias with the Juniper evergreens! Caladiums are planted on each side of the front door!
Sky Rocket junipers flank each side of the house while Wintergreen Boxwoods outline the home. We purposely didn’t put gutters on the house so the drip line is just behind the boxwoods! Boston Ivy, which doesn’t hurt the mortar, is past due a trim! The main side walk was planted with Baby Gem Boxwoods on one side while Limelights are on the right side! One of my favorites is the Heritage Birch Tree in the courtyard! It’s hard to beat that beautiful white bark! We tied the tips of twok Junipers togetherther to freate the arch at the end of the sidewalk!
We do have a Japanese Maple planted on the side of the house which gives us a pop of red! It provides enough shade to have Hostas and Coral Bells below! Mature Limelights are behind the Red Maple!
Boxwoods loved to be pruned and if you have one with yellow or brown foliage, cut it out! The beauty of boxwoods is they rejuvenate and grow back in the bare spots! It may take a year or two but they do fill back in!
The bricks for the sidewalk came from an old Frisco building that was torn down on Commercial Street! They advertised the bricks for sale and Mike piled each individual one on several pallets and laid the sidewalk on rocks and sand over 20 years ago!
What are you planting in your landscape this Spring/Sunmer? If you are just starting, add the evergreens first to each side of your home! They are the bones of the garden! 🌲
Have a great Wednesday!💚
