Hello everyone. After a week of posting the short, as of right now, we have reached 365 views with 13 likes! It has been quite the journey for this project to come to life. First off, I just want to thank everyone involved! Without them, none of this would have been possible. Thanks to Krissa Hosto, Robert Montgomery, Isabella Dickmeyer, Tristan Fort, James Oetinger, Kyler Carson, Cameron Szwed, and Betsy Nelson.
The story behind the scenes: I was let go a week before we were supposed to start shooting and 3 months before my baby girl was born. This became my purpose. My family and this story were all I had. Luckily we had some savings built up. It took me three months to find a job. So all of our savings went away, and we are still financially recovering. BUT GOD took care of us. He prevailed and we were able to move to a safer living situation ON THE DAY Elaine decided to be born. It all worked out because she didn’t have to adjust to so much change happening. I worked for a year at a job delivering appliances. I started at 5:30AM and wouldn’t get back home until 7:00-8:00PM. I was wiped. I barely had time or energy for my family, let alone NYTW. And my confidence was shattered. I picked myself back up a little after 8 or 9 months of working there. I was able to get out, and I worked at a burger joint for a couple of months while going back to school to become an art teacher so my family and I could finally settle. BUT GOD had other plans.
He blessed me with someone in my small group who helped change the path of my life forever. I was introduced to insurance sales. It goes with my personality, the pay is great, and the hours are amazing. I was getting more and more time and energy with my family and I was able to finally return full time to finishing this project. My confidence has been building and now I can actually breathe again. So this short is not only a story for me. It represents a time in my life with lots of hardship. Hardship that my family and I have finally overcome. We have more road to cover before we are completely stable. BUT GOD has a plan. He will continue to take care of us. So I said all of that to say that while this was a fun silly project, I just wanted to lift it up and glorify God with it. He provided the people, skills, and recourses necessary to be able to do something I really enjoy doing.
I also want to take a moment to lift up my wonderful wife. She helped me write the story, come up with the bits, and she supported me through this every step of the way. I will always appreciate her kind acts, and cherish what she has not only done for me, but what she continually does for our family. She is my rock, my other half, and my best friend.
If you haven’t yet, I’d highly recommend giving this thing a watch. It was so fun to make.
