Our team is praying for our Texas friends and families 🙏

TEXAS FLOODS, this is the latest information for today (Saturday).

-850 uninjured people have been evacuated
-27 people have been declared deceased (18 adults & 9 children)
-6 adults and 1 child currently unidentified

Many questions have been raised about how this event unfolded.

Just to clear up some questions, there were warnings of flooding prior.

12 hours prior to the event, a flash flood watch was issued. 3 hours before the Guadalupe River began flooding a flash flood warning was issued.

These camps are located in Texas hill country. This area is prone to flooding due to the naturally dry soils and makeup of the terrain.

The area impacted is no stranger to flood warnings.

However, above all else, this was a significant event with rapid rising river levels.

The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes. This is a catastrophic and unprecedented level of flooding.

Simply put, this was a terrible event and likely caught so many off guard.

Pray for our Texas friends and family, this is such a tragedy for so many hill country residents.
