Today was unreal! šŸ˜³ā™„ļø

It was such a privilege to be on with this morning. I think a lot of kids grow up with the goal to be in a band, on tv, or in the news. Honestly, it had never crossed my mind. When Hayley contacted me last week, I couldn’t believe she was asking ME.
The support and encouragement I’ve gotten this week has been so genuine; friends and family have literally been cheering me on! (Seriously - my husband and kids started clapping when I came home from the news station this morning šŸ˜…). So- thank you all. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, shared a post, or live streamed the entire interview ( looking at you šŸ‘€) cheers to the rest of 2025 and all the opportunities it brings!

Tune in to Spokane’s tomorrow morning to see me fight for my composure on live TV 😳

I am beyond honored to be asked by to join her tomorrow to talk about Rose & Lace, why I love what I do, and why I do it. I am also in quite a bit of shock that this is real life ā™„ļø

August 2024

I cannot believe that this wedding was over 6 months ago! I just love the colors and dreamy garden style of this bouquet. The bride and groom were married at by the Spokane River, if you have ever been there you will know how perfect garden blooms go with their setting.

The small butterfly pendant sewn to the bouquet was a special touch for the bride. I cannot begin to express how much I love being able to include such small, and yet mighty, details. A small detail might seem trivial, but to the bride and groom, it means everything.

I have had the pleasure of hand sewing and including a number of family heirlooms, remembrance pieces, and tiny photos onto bouquets as well as boutonnieres over the years. It is an absolute pleasure of mine to be asked to do so ā™„ļø

It’s been a whole week since ā€˜s Backwoods Flannel Ball - and man, was it fun! My husband and I were invited to attend this year. It was such a privilege to be able to attend the ball and see first hand everything that goes into it. I enjoyed getting to sit next some fabulous people like Teri the CEO of Embrace, Rose the evenings auctioneer, and !

I am always honored to be asked to create floral pieces for , it was that much more fun to get to see everyone in action that night. If you ever have questions about what does, or how you can help them in the future, I’d love an opportunity to tell you about them ā™„ļø

Pretty little things for Valentine’s Day 🄰

I realized I haven’t made a post in a WHILE- it was a crazy fall, followed by a busy holiday season, and all of a sudden it’s February?! Not sure how this happens year after year! šŸ˜…

But! I’m still here! Working when I can, trying to build on skills (motherhood-florist), hanging out with my kids and husband every chance I can, trying to see friends who’s lives are as busy as mine, basically doing all the things and failing at keeping up with it all because I am human ā™„ļø

Boy has it been a minute!

It’s been a slow summer for flowers, but busy with all kinds of summer fun.

Summer is coming to a close, and I couldn’t be more delighted to finish it off with a wedding tomorrow.

I have enjoyed working with Julie and Jim this summer and am so excited to see everything come together tomorrow! ā™„ļø

Thanks to .in.may for all the lovely garden flowers! The lisianthus are beyond perfect 🄰

✨The power of asking for help ✨

I always carry a bag of tools, zip ties, and construction grade wire for installing floral pieces. My nemesis are gazebos. As snug as I zip tie and wire floral installments, there is always a chance of them slipping.

So- I asked Bob for help. I told him how helpful a couple of eye hooks would be. He asked me if I wanted him to do it- I thought he was joking. Before I knew it, there were two sturdy hooks drilled into his gazebo, for me! This was such an enormous help, not just for me, but because these arbor pieces will be used after the ceremony at the head table. How easy for them to just unhook them!

So thank you again Bob!! You made my day 😊

Other florists, look away šŸ˜…

I used to have an Explorer that fit floral boxes ✨perfectly ✨ and don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful to have this Trooper. It just does not hold as much, as well as the Explorer did 😬

Side note: I’m so glad I got my husband these bungie cords for Christmas šŸ˜‚

Sometimes you phone a friend, sometimes you have to change your plan, and sometimes you just have to make it work. For those of you who are interested, nothing moved an inch on the drive, and nothing got squished either. šŸ˜Ž

I’ll post a whole shot of these guys at Flannel Ball later. It’s amazing what can fit in the back of the Trooper, wind up filling a huge room šŸ¤—

Day 3 of 2023 throwbacks

The fall of 2023 I made a post to share my opinions on posting photos of funeral flowers. As a recap- I don’t do it. It’s a personal policy I know not everyone shares, and that’s ok, it’s just not something I feel right about doing. I do save pictures in case I am asked to do funeral or memorial flowers, I like being able to show my work when it is appropriate.

I had taken this photo when I was in the middle of funeral flowers for my friend’s grandpa. I was thinking about the sting of death, but the sweetness of leaving a world of pain behind. Thinking about the old saying, roses and thorns, and them not smelling sweet without the pain.

These are Hearts roses. I’ve used them for weddings and now funerals. I think they are so appropriate for both. We cannot live without pain, but life is so enriched with sweet smelling roses, and joy, amid the pain.

I did more funerals than weddings last year. As much as it is an honor to be asked to create the floral pieces to represent and remember a loved one- I’d rather not have memorial flowers outweigh weddings again. But it is not for us to decide.

I do realize by not posting memorial and funeral flowers, I am limiting the amount of work I show, and likely not getting in front of as many people as I can. But that’s not what I am all about. I do flowers to help others, not myself. I would rather do what I feel is right, than compromise my beliefs and make more money in the process.

Day 2 of throwbacks from 2023

I got to know this last year. She has the sweetest family and the best you pick flowers farm.

I had known about the farm, but did not realize how close they were to me. I shot out there a number of times last summer and fall. Their dahlias are incredible, and they grow my favorite variety of zinnias. I am looking forward to going back this summer for more ā€œgarden goodiesā€ ā™„ļø

I have so enjoyed .in.may over the past few years; not only her flower knowledge, but her quiet way of supporting me as a mom too. But, making the trek to see her got harder with the kids in tow. I need to make my way up there in 2024- hold me to it .in.may !

Throwback time ā™„ļø

I’ve done such a poor job of posting my work this last year. I could blame it on any number of things, but I won’t.

I take pride in my work, in working with my clients, but I do a poor job of showing my work or staying ontop of my website.

So, I am going to try and do 1 throwback photo each day for as long as I can. To showcase a picture I forgot to post, share a thought I meant to post and didn’t, or even finally post some of the professional photos my lovely clients sent me.

I’ll start here- this is from September 2023, for a lovely bride named Lindsay. I’ve known Lindsay and her family for almost 20 years. I had the pleasure of doing her sisters wedding flowers years ago, doing a Bible study with her mom, and hunting with her dad. It is such a pleasure to be involved with family friends weddings- truly the best gift I can give!
