Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae

“This book shows that kindness can make a big difference. It’s about a giraffe that can’t dance, but with encouragement from others, finds faith that one day he might be able to! It reminds readers that you can do anything, and that it’s okay to be different and to accept others for those differences!”

🌎💛 It’s World Kindness Day!
To celebrate, Mrs. Toews’s Children’s Literature class visited and each student selected a children’s book that represents kindness. They also wrote a short reflection on how their chosen story shares that message.

We’ll be sharing their recommendations today. Each one a reminder that kindness can be found (and taught!) through the pages of a good book. 📚✨

💬 Senior Jackson Bradham recommends:
The Bad Seed by Jory John
“This book shows that kindness can make a big difference. It’s about a sunflower seed that is bad and later becomes kinder after trying things like saying, ‘Thank you.’ This reminds readers that you can always be kind, and that you never know what someone is going through that makes them act bad, so always give them a chance!”
