Inspired by its annual "anti-festival" hosted on Willie Nelson's Luck, TX property, Luck Reunion creates unique spaces for cultural discovery. Nearly 10 years ago, a group of friends came together with a vision for a new kind of live music experience. We knew we wanted to honor the cross-section culture that has long motivated creative tradition; to preserve traditions in music, food, and craft; a

nd to create a stage for modern-day outliers who are influenced by the legacies before us. What started as a one-day event has grown into a community; a platform for us to share the ethos of Luck and bring together musicians, chefs, and artisans who are contributing to American roots culture in an authentic way. In addition to the flagship annual event, Luck produces content and experiences both in and out of Luck with the mission of providing a space for craftsmanship, preservation and discovery. Our goal is to attract musicians, artisans, and chefs, who like the outlaws and outliers before them, follow their dreams without compromise.

October’s record selection is ’s 5th studio album, Hard Headed Woman.

When Price was conceiving the album, she expressed a desire to return to her classic country roots, having previously expanded into more Americana, and psychedelic rock sounds on her previous albums That’s How Rumors Get Started (2020) and Strays (2023). Though her long-time backing band, the Price Tags, were involved in the recording process for Hard Headed Woman, Price parted ways with the group prior to the album’s release and put together a new band more suited to a country melodies. Price explained that the album’s title was inspired by her need to stand up for justice, stating “I’m a highly-sensitive, highly-feeling person. I have a hard time when I see injustice, not saying anything about it. Singing these songs, and sometimes being the squeaky wheel saying, ‘This isn’t right,’ is hard, because people don’t like women. We’re living in a time where people are just stripping away women’s rights. That is why I wanted this album to be called Hard Headed Woman”.

Perhaps you’re feeling the midsummer blues, or maybe you’ve just been waiting for it a long time…this August Luck Record Club is bringing you the long-awaited new album from Night Moves, in stunning blue.

Double Life, the fourth album and first in six years, is a cozy and cool LP built largely from a string of very rough breaks that singer John Pelant and Night Moves have navigated in recent years. This time around, these songs are direct documents of Pelant’s life as he searches for silver linings or at least valuable meanings during a moment when very little seemed golden. Double Life is about moving through, not moving on.

Thank you for the overwhelming and gracious response to the call for help in the wake of this catastrophe. In an effort to meet the most important needs on an ongoing basis, we are moving our base of operations to Kerrville Folk Festival ranch in order to best accommodate support teams and continue to service the Hunt, Kerrville, and surrounding flood-affected communities.

To everyone who has signed up as a volunteer, you will be hearing from the organizers shortly.
