I didn’t say it was easy! 💪🏼

… but I will say it’s almost always worth it.

Last year, I ran out of steam and never got around to mulching it. Fast forward to spring, and the w**ds had completely taken over. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I tackled it one step at a time.

Spring is my favorite time to w**d because the ground is still soft from all the rain, making it much easier to pull roots. I worked through the entire bed, lifting plant foliage to grab the w**ds hiding underneath, cut back my spent spring blooms, refreshed the edging, and then topped everything with a thick 3-inch layer of mulch.

Mulch, mulch, mulch! Not only does it make a bed look finished, but it also helps suppress any remaining w**d roots and keeps future w**ds from taking over.

A reminder for anyone staring at a project that feels too big: you can do hard things. It might not be easy, and it might take longer than you hoped, but the finished result is worth the effort. 🌱

Let me explain 😁😁👇🏼

listen, I’m not saying you can’t learn from books, videos, or Pinterest. But there’s a difference between reading about something and actually living it day after day. It’s kind of like getting workout advice from someone who’s never carried, birthed, or raised a baby — there are just some things you don’t fully understand until you’ve been in it.

Managing acres of gardens, mud, w**ds, storms, pests, projects, and keeping everything alive isn’t always “textbook.”

So if you’re out there figuring it out as you go, trust your own experience too. The people doing the work usually know more than they get credit for

What’s the wildest unsolicited advice you’ve gotten? 👀👇🏼

The birdbath was supposed to be for the birds… but apparently my kids had other plans 😂💦

I kept finding dirt, toys, and mysteriously empty water every single day, so instead of fighting it, I upgraded their water table into a mini fountain play station using my extra solar fountain pump

I ran tubing through the top so the water drips down like a little waterfall for them to play in, but you can also just place the fountain directly in the bottom for a bubbling effect too. The best part? It’s solar powered, shuts off automatically, and no cords or electricity to worry about around the kids

Honestly… this might be one of my best parenting hacks yet 😂

If you want the same pump I’m using, comment “PUMP” and I’ll send you the link

Save this idea for summer playtime & send it to another plant-loving parent 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Let’s talk pricking out! 👇🏼

So the first round of starting completely failed, I decided to try something different . I sprinkled the seeds directly across the tray, kept everything moist, and came back 3 days later to tiny germinated sprouts 🌱

Now I’m just “pricking out” the seedlings with tweezers and moving them into pods one by one. WAY easier to see what’s actually viable before wasting time and space.

The key is to do this early before the roots settle in too much. If you struggle with seed starting, this little hack might save your sanity 🙌🏼

Have you ever tried pricking out seedlings like this? Or are you team direct sow?👇🏼
