Service Animal Policy – Homietown Music Festival
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Homietown Music Festival welcomes service animals that are individually trained to perform specific tasks or work for people with disabilities.
Important Guidelines:
• Only ADA-defined service animals are permitted on festival grounds.
• Service animals must be dogs (or, in rare cases, miniature horses) that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability.
• Emotional support animals, therapy animals, comfort animals, or pets are not considered service animals under the ADA and are not permitted.
Festival staff may ask the following ADA-allowed questions:
1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
No registration, certification, or documentation is required or accepted by the festival. Claims of “registered service animals” without the animal meeting the ADA definition will not be accepted.
Rules for Service Animals on Site:
• All service animals must remain under the handler’s control at all times.
• Service animals must be on leash (or harness) unless the leash would interfere with the animal’s specific task.
• Service animals may not be left unattended in vehicles, tents, or anywhere on the property.
• Handlers are fully responsible for cleaning up after their service animal and ensuring it does not disrupt the event or pose a safety risk to others.
Violations of this policy (including bringing non-qualified animals or failing to maintain control) may result in the handler and animal being asked to leave the festival grounds.
We are committed to providing full access for individuals with disabilities while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees. If you have questions about this policy, please contact us in advance.
