Brunswick Town Florist Southport’s local hometown flower shop with over 25 years in business. Servicing Southport, Oak Island, and Bolivia and surrounding areas.

We design fresh, beautiful arrangements for everyday moments, weddings, and unforgettable events. A visual artist and painter, with a background in film and theatre, Don Baker is melding his talents and lifelong love of flowers to create stunning natural and organic floral designs. As owner of Brunswick Town Florist for the past 25 years, he is helping his clients take their designs to the next level and to set the stage – beautifully.

“My theater and fine arts background help me in knowing what is dramatic,” said Baker. “As a director, lighting, set design, costumes and wardrobe are all key components and I've always set the stage with a visual eye. As a painter and visual artist, floral design came naturally,” said Baker. “It was learning how to treat the flowers so that they would live, that took a bit longer to learn.”

“I like an organic, less structured sense of design and have looked for other artists to help me convey that sense,” said Baker. “We always try to listen to what the client wants – we can create or duplicate anything.”

“We meet with people to get a sense of what they want, and then, if they want, guide them, offer suggestions, and help them make their vision a reality.”

“Theatre is a communal art – you have a lot of artists and visions working together,” said Baker. “I feel like having done theater makes me better able to work collaboratively with clients – I really enjoy it.”

🎃 Brunswick Blooms It Forward October Delivery! 🎃

This month, we had the pleasure of delivering a little something special to Ms. White at Southport Christian School! 💐

Teachers give so much of themselves every single day: patience, encouragement, time, and love and we truly believe they deserve to be reminded just how appreciated they are!

Sometimes, a beautiful bouquet is a simple way to say “thank you for all that you do.” And we were so happy to help spread a little joy her way this month!

Keep an eye out toward the end of the month! We’ll be opening nominations for our November Brunswick Blooms It Forward recipient. We want to hear about the people in our community who deserve a little extra love and flowers!

We teamed up with Lively Grove Farms to create this dreamy, contemporary floral design for their styled shoot and we are absolutely obsessed with how it came together!

From the statement green anthurium adorned with delicate pearls, to the unique orchid boutonnière, every detail was thoughtfully designed to make a statement while keeping that modern, elegant feel.

This one is definitely one of our favorites of the year so far! 🌿✨

Each month, we’ll be giving away a special floral arrangement to a deserving local person or business in our community.
