Planning an event that is the highlight milestone of your career is no easy task. People think everything comes together seamlessly but that’s the furthest from the truth. I am so thankful that God touched the hearts of his strongest soldiers to come together and show me favor to pull off the most amazing yet impactful conference of 2022. Although God gave me the vision and I planned everything alone, there was a huge financial deficit that needed to be covered. And then He sent resources.
Britney of The Luxe Rental Collective is one of the angels who showed me favor and grace. There were times I wanted to quit and cancel everything and then she would “mysteriously” send me a reassuring text saying “You got this” at the time I needed it the most. Or she would call and say, “How can I help? What do you need? I’m so proud of you!” She never viewed me as competition and she never showed any jealousy over what I was producing. Britney is living proof that collaboration over competition can exist in the same industry, in the same city amongst black women. I’m forever grateful that she believed in my vision and saw it was bigger than the both of us.
Britney owns the largest African American event rental company in Michigan. Her journey is one to admire. Be sure follow and support her. She is also a very talented celebrity event designer. When Britney came onboard as the furniture sponsor, she said let’s go and do a venue walk through. (Now we both have been there a million times 🤣) but she treated me like a regular client and made sure she understood my vision and where I wanted things to go. She didn’t let ego get in the way or the fact that she was sponsoring overshadow that I was still her client. That says a lot about her character. Britney, you are a godsend.
