Brenda was born in South Shore, Kentucky, on March 1, 1949, the daughter of Lloyd and Alline (Vansickle) Howell. She graduated from McKell High School in South Shore, Kentucky and then Southeastern Business College with a business degree.

My Mom, Beulah Mae Vansickle-Defoe, went to be with the Lord February 13, 2015. She wrote this poem about 20 years ago while contemplating death and worrying about her children joining her in heaven one day. The love of a mother is eternal. I hope the poem blesses you as it did me.
