I do my best to keep it clean ✨

Clean setups take more time and effort, but when they're done right, they blend into the environment, look professional, and help keep the focus on the event, not the equipment 👀

Yesterday I provided music and sound for the Thermo Fisher Vendor Expo at Genentech. The goal wasn't to be the center of attention. It was to create a comfortable atmosphere, keep the energy up, and make sure announcements and music could be heard clearly throughout the event footprint 🔈🎶

To cover the large space, I deployed five speakers throughout the venue. Two of them were running wirelessly using Phenyx PTU-X units. Could I have run 100+ feet of XLR cable and spent time taping everything down? Sure. But that would have meant cables crossing walkways, more clutter, and more potential trip hazards. Wireless was simply the cleaner solution ✨

Of course, real life likes to keep things interesting...
About an hour into the event, someone let me know one of the rear speakers was cutting in and out. I walked over to investigate. The culprit? A food truck had parked directly between the transmitter and receiver. Not just a little in the way... completely blocking line of sight. 😂

Once I repositioned the speaker, everything was solid for the rest of the event 🙌🏽

It's a good reminder that no amount of planning can account for every variable. Sometimes the solution isn't more gear or more volume. It's simply adapting to what's happening around you 🤓

The other MVP of the day was my canopy. We started with clouds and cool weather, and being under my canopy didn't seem necessary... but within a couple of hours the sun was out in full force. Thankfully I came prepared. The canopy provided some much-needed shade for both me and the equipment without taking up a ton of space or becoming an eyesore. ☀️

The older I get, the less I worry about chasing moments and the more I appreciate creating them. ❤️

The goal was never to stay young. The goal was to keep growing. 🌱

New music. New technology. New venues. New algorithms. ✨

What never gets old is delivering joy and bringing people together through music. 🎶

🎂 I'd say it's my birthday run, but I tend not to make a big deal nor do much for my birthday, usually just staying heads down and keeping busy.

Back from Vegas, few gigs in between, and then off to LA for a couple of events, then back at AC Lounge ✨

Welcome to LasVegas ‼️🎰✨

Always love being out here. The energy, the people, the food… Las Vegas is definitely one of my favorite places to play.

I’m always grateful anytime I get the opportunity to DJ outside the Bay Area, and it never gets old being trusted to help set the vibe in another city, state, or country.

Big thank you to and for always trusting me and allowing me to share the stage with you all 🙏🏽 Always a good time.

Music has taken me to a lot of places over the years, and I never take that for granted.

Keeping busy ✨

As a service provider, every single event, big or small, deserves your best foot forward.

One thing I take pride in is presentation. No matter how fancy or expensive your gear is, bad cable management, sloppy setups, lazy ex*****on, or not dressing appropriately can hurt that first impression.

I’d like to think my mixing, music selection, and ability to read a crowd play a big role in referrals and repeat business… but presentation matters, too ‼️

Skills, experience, professionalism, and presentation all work together.

That combination creates an experience people remember and want for their own events.

🎶 I love playing for these people‼️

I've become their preferred DJ, and they've gotten to know what to expect. I've been told that for every event, everyone asks... "Is '𝘛𝘏𝘈𝘛' DJ coming back?"

Lol. That's a compliment in itself. That’s connection ❤️

This was their 3-Day school festival, and I had multiple speakers blasting for the entire school, but here, I'm tucked away inside a strictly 21+ bar area where the parents have a chance to take a breather and enjoy themselves 🍻🎉

Still clean, still appropriate… but now I’m reading a room full of Gen X, Millennials, and beyond who just want to let loose for a bit 🥂

A tried a little wordplay... Push It » Baby… and when I get this kind of reaction, I know I'm leaning into the right pocket 🎯

Catering to multiple generations isn’t always easy, but moments like this make my job fun and worthwhile. 🤗

That’s the job. Reading the room, bringing joy, and making memories ✨

You don’t need to force a vibe ✨

You just need to create the space for it. Part of my job is to make people feel comfortable enough to let loose and enjoy themselves.
