AI innovation was on full display at AI DevSummit 2026! 🤖

The South San Francisco Conference Center recently hosted AI DevSummit 2026, bringing together more than 1,000 developers and engineers in the tech industry for two days of learning, networking, and discussion around AI leadership, machine learning, generative AI, AI agents, and enterprise technology.

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Aria, the South San Francisco Conference Center AI Guide.

Our hologram powered by LiveX AI, Aria welcomed guests, answered questions, took personalized AI selfies with attendees, and showcased how interactive AI can enhance the event experience. She quickly became a favorite among attendees throughout the summit.

Used for meeting with clients, planning sessions, interviews, and collaborative discussions, the Board Room has played a supporting role in countless events and decisions throughout the Conference Center's history.

These archive images offer a look at how the space has evolved over the years, comparing an earlier view of the room with how it appears today.

Also featured is a recently installed mural celebrating The City of South San Francisco – Government's rich history and identity. As one of the newest additions to the Board Room, the artwork brings a fresh visual connection to the city and community that have been part of the Conference Center's story since 1993.

This issue of the South San Francisco Conference Center Archives looks back at the construction and opening of the Oyster Point Room addition in 2007.

As the South San Francisco Conference Center continued to grow, the Oyster Point Room was introduced as a new standalone event space, adding 4,000 sq. ft. of additional capacity and expanding the venue’s flexibility for meetings, conferences, and special events.

Featured on the front page of the San Mateo County Times on April 2, 1993, this photo by Scott Buschman Photography captures the opening of the South San Francisco Conference Center and its introduction to the meetings and events industry.

That week, the The City of South San Francisco – Government welcomed nearly 300 members of the Northern California Chapter of Meeting Professionals International—giving planners from organizations like Apple, Kaiser, and Stanford Medical Center an early look at the new venue.

Built through a collaborative effort between local hoteliers and city officials, the South San Francisco Conference Center was designed to compete in the Peninsula’s growing conference landscape and serve as a hub for business and community gatherings.

More than 30 years later, that vision continues—welcoming events, meetings, and celebrations through the same doors. Swipe to see then vs now.
